Any DIY pedal builders on TB? Strut your stuff!

just finished this one. (it has A LOT of unusual value resistors!), top led (green) shows on/off, bottom led (red) shows compression.

Depth Charge -- I always wanted to try one, buying never happened, a PCB didn't show up either, so finally, I went with vero, according to the dirtbox layout.

Transistors are all 2N2222A (all metal cans, except the matched Q4 and Q5) and the GE diodes are CV7049.
And while I was at it, I decided to add clipping options, because why not? And I put in a trimmer to fine tune the clean blend.

Does it sound like the real deal? I don't know, but it fuzzes pretty nicely, I dig it.
Here are a few notes, going through the clipping otpions. Within each option, first the TONE knob is far left then far right. GAIN stays on about 60-70% and BLEND on about 80-90% wet.

Day late to the party. I've been going thru a phase of salvaging my older stripboard builds and repurposing the enclosures and hardware into new projects. I've built second copies on pcb's that turned out nicer than the stripboard version and salvaging older projects keeps my collection from growing out of control. Earlier in the week I was looking at repurposing a Depth Charge built in 2021 that uses a drill template that's compatible with Parasit Studio's new Ladder to the Moon pedal. I built a Depth Charge on a modified AionFX Rift pcb that I like more, so the stripboard version is a good candidate for repurposing.
Here's a salvage project completed last weekend. The enclosure and all hardware, except for two pots, were salvaged from a Colorsound Bass Fuzz. Most wires came from my scrap pile, and a few box capacitors are salvaged too. I sanded off the old paint job, primed it, and gave it to my kid to paint. The circuit is Chykka-Wakka envelope filter, a DIY circuit found on FSB. It's a one-trick-pony funky filter with a small range of tweakability.

Hey friends,

For the last few months I've been involved in beta testing this new widget: Cabintech Global LLC

No beauty shots here just yet, but my scary test box with 13 knobs has been making some pretty great sounds. It's in production now and I'm expecting the current revision in my mailbox this morning. Most of my attention has been going towards mono to stereo applications, primarily for acoustic guitar. When they say "much higher sound quality" they really mean it in this case, the noise floor is exceptionally good for this class of device.

As usual, no commercial interest here at this time, but I'd love to see some more takes on working with this piece. There's a thread on it on PPCB with participation from the Cabintech staff: Digital BBD concept looking for comments and beta testers
