Looks great, and really clean. The two I've done are vero and pretty rats-nesty inside, though the most recent is a big improvement over the previous.

I didn't realize that companies made PCBs to sell until pretty recently, I thought it was all perf-board or self-made and now I seem to find a different effects PCB company every few weeks (Dead End FX being the most recent).

Im looking forward to doing some builds with the production PCBs to clean things wire-wise. Also read the idea of making a jig on a thin piece of wood to solder up to keep things clean. Still learning a lot with each day in the garage, which is the fun part.

I was cleaning up my workspace while the kiddo took a nap and snapped a picture of my WM from 2012. Yours looks a lot better! Maybe I should get some stamps. Certainly am upgrade over sharpie!

I read on another forum just a couple of days ago about creating jigs out of thin wood/cardboard/whatever and that's something I think I am going to do for future builds - great idea. I really think that will help clean up my builds quite a bit.

It does help. I just use whatever cardboard I have laying around. I have saved the main ones I use the most, like 3 and 4 knob for 125 or 1590 boxes.

THE JIG IS UP!

I'm a cardboard (ab)user, too.

Got the idea from an effects building forum. No pics of my own, nor of the chap whom I knicked the idea from, but he had jig made of a slotted hunk of wood hinged on his workbench so he could flip the cardboard up or down to more easily access both sides. Wish I had kept a pic of that (or could find it on the forum).

A cardboard box helped me mock up a very an extremely tight fit of a two-stomper booster in a 1590A with all jacks and knobs on one side of the enclosure.

I need to adopt that method. Every circuit I've built had to wait overnight while the enclosure paint dries.
I've used plastic sheets cut from kitty litter buckets to mount and secure circuit boards. Could easily cut 125B & 1590B templates from the same material.

Might as well share the ugly stuff. Just did some work fixing the LED and snapped this. Still a lot cleaner than the last one. I feel pretty good about where this is at but am going to call it for now so I can dig in on something else.

Edit: just noticed the exposed wire on the jack. I need some new wire, this stuff I have, the insulation melts when you look at it sideways. I fixed three of those tonight and thought I got them all!

Is that standard PVC insulated hook up wire? Have you tried 105°C rated PVC or PTFE (200°C) before?

Are you twisting your ground/signal wires by hand? Want a tip?
