The terrain is pretty gnarly here, lots of short steep ups and downs, rocks, roots etc. so the 6"x6" AM bike with a dropper post makes sense. It can really do it all too. It goes up things better than a 32lb bike with a 66.5 degree HA and 160mm of squish should and it's a joy on descents. It's actually a more capable descender than my old Uzzi VPX which was a 7.5" freeride bike. Oh, and it's a lot dirtier now than it was when those pics were take!
