I think it's a Ukulele thing and not a Fender thing. All my tenor and concert Ukuleles have a dot on the 10th fret.

I think it's a Ukulele thing and not a Fender thing. All my tenor and concert Ukuleles have a dot on the 10th fret.
I dunno - the rationale [some posited] for Fender putting the marker at the 9th on the Tenor Tele was to appease the Uke crowd so as to convert them to tenor because that's what uke players are used to. Then I see this and I'm just getting confused. Epiphone does theirs at the 9th whereas Kala does the 10th so I guess it's all over the map?
I estimate Fender and others have people like me in mind. For me it is just a small bass or a small guitar with two missing strings.
Keith loaded up a U-Haul van this morning, and headed down to Anaheim. Today is load-in day. That's about $60K worth of guitars and basses in there, all built by him.
I had a minor jumped in the air with excited when I saw that sterling posted these on their Instagram. According to them they will be released in February. An affordable HH stingray and a short scale one? Absolutely amazing!
I wonder if it's 30" scale like its brother? Or 32"?
And will it also be passive?

I think there might be a few brands offering a bass with true temperament frets, because, on True Temperament had a press release about a cooperation with a major music manufacturing plant. And since there are factories such as Cort who produce for various brands...

If you get the chance, would you check out the Sterling Stingray short scale. Maybe see if the finish is gloss and fit n stuff?

Genzler added 15-3 SLT to the Bass Array lineup. Looks fantastic, 35 lbs.
I've actually played on the USA short scale Stingray. It has a different preamp than its longer scale brothers or the specials. Sounded and played good, but maybe a little overpriced for what you were getting. I prefer the Special 4HH. I'm definitely interested in the new offerings from Sterling though, so you can bet I'll spend some time in their booth.
I love me some medium scale basses, so I'll do my best to hunt some down. Ibanez finally released their Mezzo in black and I will probably pick one up in the not so distant future.

It’s passive with a three way rotary switch for parallel, single coil and series pickup options.
The new SBMM short scale has the same controls.
Which is probably why I wasn't super into it. A good portion of the Stingray tone lives in the preamp. If they made the short scale with the preamp and maybe the pickup from the Special I think that would be a winning combo. I'll have to play one again to see if I come to the same conclusion.
It was announced last month, there are a couple of threads discussing it and Roger Sadowsky has talked about it in the Club Sadowsky!!! thread.

Without the preamp I'm less excited. $549 USD is alot. Also, i think the double Humbucker is $799 USD. This has simmered down my excitement. I'm gonna count my blessings I got my SUB bass for $250.
