Any one here make it to pro?

I made it pro. Check out Dong-Ming Kim's big band CD "Scat Allstars" I'm featured as 2nd cowbell and auxiliary fluffer.

I wrote and recorded a song that made it onto a compliation published by an obscure Italian punk rock label. I don't actually have a copy of it. A critic wrote about my song: "It sounds like a bunch of high school kids made up a song and recorded it in their basement in the 80's," thus proving that music criticism is objective and accurate.

Folks. There are two famous bass players in the world: Macca and Sting, and neither is famous for playing bass. The simple fact is you will never get famous for playing bass. Oh sure, we all can name 50 bass players, but go out and ask random people on the street for the name of a famous bass player. The only people who will know your name are other bass players. Get used to it.

also, man, I didn't know there were so many professional bassists on here. I knew of a few, but damn. I guess that's what I get for spending all my time in Off Topic :hmm:

as for me, I'll never be famous. It's one of the conditions of starting a death metal band :p

Death metal is the best and you can get famous if you play for the right person.

I was in a band with Scott Putesky (Daisy Berkowitz) after he quit Marilyn Manson.
Before that I was in a band with Wesley B. Wright who was a founding member of Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine (Harry Connick Jr's guitarist was in that band with me too). I've performed with Wanda Jackson (awesome experience). Have performed with Pete Solley (Procol Harum; original Whiter Shade of Pale organ player), Julius and Felix Pastorius and many more... Nobody's heard of me.

But I thought the organist on Whiter Shade of Pale was Matthew Fisher...
