Any one here make it to pro?

I was in a band with Scott Putesky (Daisy Berkowitz) after he quit Marilyn Manson.
Before that I was in a band with Wesley B. Wright who was a founding member of Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine (Harry Connick Jr's guitarist was in that band with me too). I've performed with Wanda Jackson (awesome experience). Have performed with Pete Solley (Procol Harum; original Whiter Shade of Pale organ player), Julius and Felix Pastorius and many more... Nobody's heard of me.

Maybe I seen you in video.

I consider "PRO" a person making a living playing music "making a living playing music" a long time ago I was making a living in the music business (when there was a music Industry) which included live performances and studio work that put money in my pocket however, that was a long time ago when it was just me busting my butt to live my dream a lot of work with not a lot of money to show for it. Doing just a music gig and supporting a family and pulling 6 figures at least to support a family of 5 today is a pipe dream.

In '91 or so, Jody Watley's brother tried to ask a fee from us to shop our backyard party cover band to the labels, because that is exactly what the record labels are looking for and have such a hard time finding. Does that count as pro?

I was the keyboard player and deliberately played awfully and out of key just to watch him cringe to himself as he delivered the expected BS about how good we were. And he did. :smug:

Probably not a music video but perhaps in the bowels of Youtube somewhere. Also, if you lived in Fort Lauderdale Florida in the early 2000's I was on a regularly aired TV commercial for a coffee shop. Back when I was tapping like Stanley Jordan all over the neck of a 6 string Roscoe and doing solo shows. I've thankfully abandoned that wankery.

I've only visited my dad's aunt and uncle and I stayed at the Saddle Brook hotel for about two weeks before. I believe the Saddle Brook is in Orlando, but I'm not sure, and I don't know where my dad's aunt and uncle live.

because you for sure already heard them: Invalid Link Removed ;-)

PS: that thread made me realise that we (sorry for the generalisation) have a strange position towards fame... I was never interest in fame, or in famous people, but knowing that Johnny A is on here is still kind of a strange feeling. I have seen staind 2 years ago and I'd never thought that he could be reading posts on this forum. It's not the fact that he is here that is strange... it's the fact that I didn't think of that possiblity before.

+1

It is surreal for me. Also some great builders pop in every now and again too.

Really cool memories there. I played Mississippi Nights (I think it was in St. Louis) with Dickey Betts in 1986. Cool showcase club-I have no idea if it's still there.
I used to gig in Cincinnati at Bentleys and The Blue Wisp as well with Nashville vibist Jerry Tachoir, so I'm friends with Ted and Dixie Karas, John Hinchey, Dave McKay, Steve Weingart and a lot of the other Cincy Music Mafia. I ran into Michael Sharfe a couple of times as well-great bassist!

Michael is an extreme badass.

Sounds like you've been around!
