any smokers switch to Vaping yet? [PART 2]

I've got a couple of vape mail days coming up... I have a Sparkle Granny Smith Green GLV Mini that I impulse ordered on Monday. The person who ordered it 2 months ago rage quit her waiting on Saturday and was refunded money ASAP, turns out it was finished and ready to ship out on Monday... I jokingly asked "how much?" and was given a price I couldn't pass on. Then the Group Buy on the Chimera from 1700 Fabricators dropped yesterday!

I have been vaping since 1/3/14 and have not had ONE cig since then! Having had 5 heart attacks (10 stents) and a wife who is an RN for Hospice, I really needed to quit smoking. I have tried many times, including Chantix 2x, but nothing has worked this well, or for this long. I call it my "adult pacifier"....LOL. Even my Doctor and also my Cardiologist are in favor of this over smoking.

Been in the vape world and smoke free for 2 years now! Actually my first purchases are documented in part one of this thread, haha. I only drip and own 2 Provari Minis, but I've talked 5 friends into quitting and they all have badass tank setups which make me feel like a noob, but I just love dripping to much to switch simply for the cool factor.

Well it's got me off smoking for a few months but I hope to give it up as well. It's a hassle. I travel a lot and it leaks on the plane, I have to remember to bring yet ANOTHER charger, juice, spare tank/coil just in case....yes it's a hell of a lot healthier but now I'm a slave to these gadgets. Ughh. Oh well. I am glad for it overall. I don't think I could have given up cigarettes any other way.

Got a new drip tip from 1700 Fabricators the other day... torched it to blend into my Hornet RA

had my fretless on my lap when a topic warranting a shot of it with my daily vapes came up this morning... so I'm sharing it here too ;)

Not going to get into a long flame war, but if you've never been a smoker, you'll never understand and aren't qualified to make disparaging remarks. If you did smoke, and quit using another method, good on ya, mate, but please don't belittle those that are quitting using this method. e:cigar:

Ahhh "vaping". Trading one stupid addiction for another since 2003.
I felt exactly the same way. If you go back far enough in this thread you'll find my disparaging remarks. But after years of failed attempts to quit tobacco I gave it a shot, and several months later still don't smoke. Yes, I'm still addicted to nicotine but without the awful health risks of tobacco. I'm weaning myself off vaping by reducing the nic content and will hopefully eventually give it up altogether. In the meantime I'm not killing myself. It is a lifesaver, literally. A real blessing for many millions of us.

Dear David,

My comment was directed not at people who are genuinely using e-cigs to eventually discontinue smoking altogether, but at people who use e-cigs as a crutch, ie: trading one addiction for another without the desire to ever stop. How else do you explain that there are entire stores now devoted to nothing but e-cig sales? How elese do you explain kids getting into e-cigs without ever having smoked a real cigarette in their lives.

As I said before, trading one stupid addiction for another.

Nicotine in and of itself isn't actually a bad thing (ie: not unlike daily morning coffees or evening drinks.)

because it is far more involved hardware and liquid wise than the crap they sell at the local gas station (ie: why buy a high end bass from a bass specific retailer when you can get one in the electronics section of Walmart?)

I don't know where you live, but the sale of ecigs are regulated to not be sold to anyone under 18

Well frankly, this is the case for many, and there's nothing wrong with that in my opinion. It's still eliminating a huge set of health risks. It's a massive improvement from smoking.

My NP (Nurse Practitioner) would disagree. When I mentioned this, she scoffed and said they are two different things.
I have an appointment with a heart specialist this month, we'll see what he says in regards to ecigs/PV's.

Agreed.

Like any retailer, that depends on how honest they are. The store I get my supplies from has a big sign in the window. No one under 19 years of age permitted. (Although my girls have come in with me. But then again, they're 8 and 5. LOL)

Nicotine (like caffeine) raises heart rate and blood pressure... so if there are underlying conditions, of course it is better to avoid both. If minimal nicotine is to be avoided, I assume caffeine will be cautioned against as well.

Good luck on your visit!

i've been out of touch ... lol.
between working like crazy, and being sick off and on for the last 2 months ... not a lot of forum time.

Rachel now has a pair of MVP 2's ... picked up one of the black girly ones with all the crystals in the front at a local shop with a GC her brother gave us for christmas ... and i ordered her a 2nd one from 101vapes for $39! that is a plain silver one. she loves the iclear 16b that came with the black one. need to order her some replacement coils for it, cause i'm not messing with tiny 30g dual coil micro rebuilds.

i'm still rocking the rsst and kfl+ as my all days ... picked up a trident clone that is pretty nice, need to get a good build in it. looking to pick up a cheap mech for my drippers, got a pair of sony vtc5's just for them. also, local shop is getting a bunch of the nice valkyrie clones next week ... i've wanted one of those since the VA ones came out. they are just dead sexy ... and the atty built into the tube has to seriously minimize voltage drop ...

we are still at 6mg ... i find with the 3mg juices i tend to chain vape all day long ... which is fine if im driving or sitting at home, but for out an about, it is a PITA ...
and James, i have almost perfected the 3mg baked cinnamon roll ... so expect unexpected vapemail in the near future ...

<ed> just noticed, i have been a member for 4 years as of yesterday ... and the only threads i have touched in 2 years are these vaping threads ...</ed>

picked up a cheap caravela clone ... it's ok. surprised at the very low voltage drop (as tested by my cheap a55 meter) but wish i would have held off a day and gotten the better set with all 3 tubes and the different battery pins.
but, i had it in my head that i wanted a mech right then.

also picked up the valkyrie clone from 101 for $42 ... should be here today. have heard nothing but great things about the EHPro one, most ppl saying that it is as good as or better than the first release of the real deal.
ordered more 28g, and picked up some 26g to play with bigger micros in the drippers. i'm liking the heat from a .5Ω dual coil ... thinking more surface area from a lower gauge wire might up the flavor at the same resistance.
