This actually sounds like a great idea... I usually am talking to people but it's kinda hard to escape it I feel like you have no time to talk to anyone and everyone wants a quit word...

I am with you Joe, have not really liked bars for a long time now, really hate being in a crowded spaces so i usually step out. Have even been accused of being a snob by band mates who do not understand. Maybe being in so many bar fights and being stabbed fuels my feelings, never the less, I am there for the music not the scene.

I find it interesting how people unwind after a gig.
For me, I have no problem listening to music on the drive home, late at night, but I understand how others might like comedy, news, sports talk, whatever, anything but music.
Satellite radio great for that.

I used to go into the closed kitchen of the bar we played.....everyone knew where to find me. Staff even waited on me! I usually sat and closed my eyes.

If I wasn't socializing I always found a spot in the kitchen CLEAR AWAY from staff coming in and out. Got to know all the local gossip. LOL

But normally I would schmooze if it's a quiet night..

yes and I answered in a posting like this yesterday Joe, but now I see yours was up first. I rest my mind and phone home to check in and on the kids. I have some water and and right back in to the fray

Yep. It's the most comfortable seat in the place, sometimes the only available seat, and the quiet is wonderful. It helps being the ugliest guy in the band, so nobody bothers me.
