Anybody else...

If it's a big, sensory overload type of venue, I almost always go outside for a while as long as it's not too cold, especially if there is nobody there who I know on a solid basis.

I also do not want to listen to any music on the drive home. I just performed music, perhaps loudly, for 2 and a half plus hours. It's like when you start eating chocolate and it tastes good; then you get to that point where it is just too much. I usually listen to a podcast, NPR, or the BBC on my way home.

Its usually some nice jazz on the radio for the ride home or maybe nothing at all.

Same here, I'll have NPR or KCBS going to keep me company, but no music on the ride home.

...sit in their car between sets? <snip> ...I get to start threads on Talkbass. I'm happy :).

Anyone else?

Not necessarily in the car, but I do remove myself from the stage area... during set breaks, I put my bass in the case, pick up a cup of black coffee from the waitress (who I make it my biz-niss to befriend early on) and I chill, alone if at all possible, somewhere quiet. I have favorite spots practically everywhere we play.

... and +1 on checking TalkBass threads.

We sometimes all pile into one of the vehicles to listen to a song that's been requested if it's something we've never heard. If the requestor is nice, we'll give it a shot in the next set.

Most times we just hang outside for some clean air. Second-hand smoke will be the death of us.

No smoking in bars, clubs and restaurants here.

I usually take a walk to clear my head. But working the crowd (or employees) is important - improves your chances getting rebooked more often at the venue.

Ha - aren't we a bunch of introverts, playing bass?!? :D
We should have a club! Ahh, maybe not. What introvert would like to be in a club anyway? ;)
(Just kidding.)

But I find these little stories to be so much the opposite of what the average Joe probably thinks of when hear the band is having a 15 minute break between sets.

Me? I take a walk, get some air, check the gear, check the car or talk to the drummer (INTP). :)
