I love how the OT of this thread was shipping containers, but the sheer might of fatty pork has made itself known in the subsequent replies

Anybody ever play in a shipping container?

alot actually... the jazz mobile in NYC, Newark, Trenton. City Park services usually have them for outdoor concerts. —can be a drag if they don't level them up
First of all, I scrolled thru this entiner thread and there was NO pics of the bacon festival food. RUDE! 
Secondly, "Container Bar" in Austin is an entire bar built of shipping containers -
But any live music plays outside on the "patio" -

We once played in a shipping container stage for a firemen's carnival. It was extremely high off the ground and had an unstable, small step staircase. It was barely big enough from front to back for the drum kit. We had to set up our P.A. on the ground in front. Acoustically, it was horrible. Plus, it had rained that afternoon and the whole container had water leaking into it from the roof.
The next year, when they asked us to play again, we refused to use the shipping container stage and so did most of the other bands that week. We set up on the street in front of it and it worked out much better. One of the bands was a 6 piece band that could not even fit on the stage.
Just because somebody, who is not a musician our sound person, thinks a stage makes sense does not mean it will.

It's a slick idea, gives you a ton of space, packs up and can be taken wherever. This morning it was in front of a big sports complex who was throwing a bacon festival
