Anybody having issues with TB loading up memory with Chrome Browser?

I'm seeing it also with Firefox ESR 52.6.0 (which I run for work related reasons) under Win7/64 (which I run for personal related reasons). And yes, I have the Intel chip patchwork on board, but have had it loaded for a couple of weeks and have not seen this runaway overhead until very recently.

Definitely make sure to login to TB, that reduces a lot of ad related overhead. Other than that, watch your task manager to make sure nothing is going crazy. I found some media (sound) related runaways yesterday, killed them and rebooted and it helped for a while.

I can always tell when I have a CPU hog, my fan speeds up a lot.

I put this thread here (amps forum) because there are some very IT oriented members on this particular forum with a track record of knowing their stuff. I didn't want it to turn into a wild ass guessing and bashing thread.

I have learned a few helpful things that I was unaware of, as I am not an IT kind of guy. Perhaps things that are not your standard computer geek approach. This is the value of the community nature of this particular forum IMO, and I appreciate it.

I guess i should mention i'm on An Android phone, 7.0, running Chrome. Haven't tried it on my home computer with Win 7. If i can remember my password i'll try it later. . .

I used a W98 PC until 4 years ago for one piece of software that wouldn't run on anything later. I tried running it on a virtual PC using VMware, the software ran ok but there were hardware issues.

It wasn't 5 figures software (it was actually bootlegged) but it was perfect for the job and it took some weaning me off it. I finally configured a Linux almost equivalent to work nearly as well.

I guess it is an age thing but I still miss the original.

It appears that a big part of this is Chrome plus website advertising on open tabs just sits and caches stuff in the background almost all the time. By closing all tabs and the browser, I have been able to cut memory usage by about 80%. This sucks when the only option for me where my shop is located is a cell hot spot.

Chrome and TalkBass have been weird for me since yesterday. No new extensions have been added. There is no quick reply area when using Chrome. Also whenever I like a comment a page loads up asking if I'm sure I want to like the comment. And pictures aren't loading in Chrome.

I'm using FireFox right now which I stopped using about a year ago due to how slow it was. It's still slower than Chrome but it works perfectly with TB so that's what I'll use for now.

I'm having problems playing Youtube videos in TB posts. They play fine if I go to another browser tab and search for the tittle directly in Youtube. (Ubuntu with Chrome and Ghostery extension (otherwise my slow internet connection spends most of it's time loading adds)).

I suspect this is not a problem with TB but my browser and/or OS and/or Ghostery preventing TB running Youtube. It has only started happening since I did an update last week.

Same here with Firefox. Tabs crash regularly when just sitting idle. Did you find another thread regarding this?
