One of my bar owner clients wants me to produce some kind of music event that will work on a Sunday afternoon 3pm to 7pm. The current Sunday night Karaoke host is getting the boot for under-performing. I currently run a successful open mic jam on Thursday nights so the owner asked me if I could help. The bar does not have food but does have a BBQ joint next door that could be added to the promotion. The owner suggesting possibly a jazz / blues jam although this is not an upscale lounge that's going to attract real jazz musicians or fans. Just wondering if any one is consistently gigging at a club/bar on a Sunday afternoon ? What kind of music and crowds are you getting? Unfortunately this is a local neighborhood place that does not attract tourists near the beach. Nor is this a destination you would want to ride your motorcycle to on a nice Sunday. Basically a bar in a strip mall.
