Anyone else have issues with FedEx when purchasing from Sweetwater?

I ordered a pedal and a wall wart. The wal wart showed up and the package was opened and the pedal was gone. After some mild "sluethin'" I was less than happy, but sweetwater made things good. I ordered something else and a similar situation happened, except this time the entire package got stalled and disappeared at the same distribution center. Again... sweetwater made things right. I have to hope that Sweetwater is making claims against the shipper, otherwise all that happens is the costs get passed on ot customers.

I’m in the Midwest, a few states away from Sweetwater. I had a big ticket item arrive on time a few months ago via FedEx. Various smaller orders I get from SW come via USPS with little to no tracking. Smaller orders coming via Fedex typically arrive a day before the projected delivery date with no notice of it.

So in my area - UPS is excellent and FedEx is poor. To top it off, the FedEx website/app is terrible. With UPS - regardless of the type of shipment, I can easily track the package and have a reasonable idea of when it will arrive within maybe 2 hours. With FedEx it's always "by end of day" - which can mean a window as large as 12 hours. My work sometimes ships electronics to me and is always sent FedEx sig. req'd. I can't tell you how many times this has been an issue. I've specifically stayed home to wait for the package, then an "attempt" is made - BUT no knock or doorbell. The only way I knew they tried to deliver it was getting a text notification saying they missed me and would try again the following day. Two seperate times, I've had to sit out on my front steps and essentially flag down/ confront the driver to make absolutely certain that I got my delivery. It's so weird and extremely irritating. With UPS I have multiple places where I can choose - on the fly from the website/app - to have the package delivered or held for pickup by me if for some reason I don't want to have delivery at my address. With FedEx it's always a huge ordeal and only can be accomplished AFTER they've made three failed attempts to deliver to my house. I just don't get it, but it's always a drag. I just bought a guitar from Sweetwater and paid the extra 40 bucks to have it delivered by UPS. An easily justifiable expense to not have my time wasted.

Recently brought from Sweetwater, got my package today being promise today, though something tiny which were picks didn't come. I think also it contributes to the holiday season, every delivery service in general seems to be kind of wacky ever since the pandemic and I'm guessing holidays tend to be wacky with delivery.

EDIT: Also like to add while reading some forum post, Fedex is the delivery company I also had the most trouble with, some great moments though but sometimes awful, drums parts not coming in, one driver hit my dads van and didn't even leave a note or nothing... but either way had a lot of positives to of course.

I've actually had the FedEx driver call me trying to deliver something from Sweetwater. I wasn't home yet to sign for it...

I get FedEx deliveries from SW, about once every 2 weeks (I’ve been buying WAY too much stuff) :smug:, for the past number of months…

Don’t think I’ve had a late delivery?? I do get (large/expensive) stuff delivered to my local FedEx ‘store’ (about 1/2mi away)… and I do live on the I-95 corridor (can actually see the highway from my condo) - so maybe that helps?

Nope. Just FedEx in general.
I live rural. My guess is, if I'm the only delivery in my neighborhood that day, they're not coming.
Actually, the (seasonal?) guy that's been on our route the last couple months have been pretty good - even coming late. I've greeted him with bottled water, soda and cookies.

UPS has never let me down - at home or in business.
And, our local Post Office has been pretty good too.

I've noticed that with FedEx, the big wait is when it's in the distribution center close to your home. We have a major one in town and I had a bass sit there for a week waiting to get two miles away to my home. To be fair, they did pull it and met me at the local Wawa so I could sign for it on my lunch break and not have to wait another day.

I receive Fedex deliveries daily in my work life, I've seen what they're capable of. But so far I've been lucky, no late deliveries to me personally, from Sweetwater or anybody else.
Same here, although not so much daily lately, bur still no problems. i also have had excellent luck with USPS. After thousands of packages over the years, i can count the problems with both companies on one hand and have fingers left over.
Not so with UPS but that was as much my fault as theirs. They operate off the USPS address database and since my address has never been listed there, delivery from UPS has always been problematic unless i have packages directed to a distribution hub to hold for pickup. When it was multiple packages daily it was simpler to just hit the PO box ten minutes up the road, or just get to work and wait for the FedEx van to come up the drive.

FedEx is THE worst. Must be a line on their job applications asking if you are willing to scam and steal.

I ordered wheels and tires for my Mustang. Got an alert saying delivered at front porch. I was sitting in my house w the door open waiting for them and was outside a minute after I got that notification.
Never heard a truck, nothing there, had to file a claim.

Sister just ordered a bunch of stuff from Gamestop for my nephews Christmas gifts. She lives at Jersey Shore and package got delivered to a house in Pennsylvania. Gamestop verified that and just re-shipped. FedEx considered it lost in shipping.

Unreal

This is a new issue as of this year. There is an extra day between when Sweetwater generates the shipping label and fedex receives the package. Sweetwater says they are still doing things the same but FedEx is having issues. It is definitely FEDEX who fails to update the delivery estimate when the package starts moving a day behind schedule. I think their truck must pickup from Sweetwater at the end of the day but not unload and scan at the fedex location until the next or something.

I ship everything from Sweetwater to my local FedEx Print & Ship location with no issues. It gives gear time to acclimate while waiting fo me to pick it up. The only time FedEx arrived a day late from Sweetwater was when I paid for next day shipping. Sweetwater promptly refunded me the extra shipping costs.

They gotta stop the candy thing though. Send me a set of strings once in a while FGS!
Would they have to change their name to Stringwater? ;)

I have had issues with every carrier at one time or another, not much difference between them.

Zero customer service AND you have to pay them extra to insure that they don't damage something you are paying them to deliver.

ex·tor·tion
/ikˈstôrSH(ə)n/
noun
  1. the practice of obtaining something, especially money, through force or threats.
  2. if you don't pay for the insurance on the package you are paying us to deliver, we cannot guarantee the package will even arrive at it's destination
