Anyone else into automatic wristwatches?

I've been going between divers and chronos too, and overall prefer divers but chronos are great. My two main "daily wear" type watches are chronos, a Shinola Runwell 41mm and Citizen Eco-Drive Titanium. I can totally understand the appeal of the Maen with features of both.

Lots of watches these days are absurdly oversized. Who needs a 47mm Shinola? Jeez. My latest is a 44mm Citizen diver in titanium, which I would normally find too big, but it's very light and it's only 12mm thick, so it works. As you said, height can be a killer, and I've learned to look out for that spec when perusing new watches.

I think I've found my perfect go-everywhere do-everything watch (not that I'm retiring any of my others! :laugh:)

One style that I recently discovered is Vietnam era military watches. I don't know much about them but they look really cool. I guess they are kind of popular already, I just never thought much about them until the last few weeks.

Aside from the Garmin I use while cycling, all my watches are automatics.

Posh wear is my Tudor Pelagos, daily wear is my much loved Bulova Oceanographer "Devil Diver".

Where tech provides a boon or boost then I go for it, but I don't do tech just for tech sake. I don't have a smartphone, and you'll never catch me wearing an Apple watch or the like. Mchanical automatic watches suit me down to the ground.

Love my Pelagos and wearing it today. It's the perfect cure for the summertime blues.

Love the Devil diver.:thumbsup:

I typically use the bracelet in cooler months. Love Bonetto Cinturini rubber straps. Amazingly comfortable.

Not sure what you mean by compact case. All Pelagos are the same size.
