Anyone else into automatic wristwatches?

Been running a pair of Seiko diver automatics...SRP637 and SKZ329.

They've both about tripled in price since I bought them. This year I wanted to back them up with entry level solars. Found a couple of nice Seikos. SNE329 AND SNE331.

Moving them onto NATO straps...black with brushed steel for the steel frame and khaki with black hardware for the gunmetal frame.

Looks good! I do really like the simplicity of this kind of second time zone display, and I'm surprised its not a more common feature. I sometimes use the rotating internal bezel of my Bell-Matic to show where '12' is for a second time zone, and do the rest in my head.

This is my Daily Driver for the last decade or so. I wear it all the time, I really don’t worry much about it. It’s meant to be worn and will hold up to about anything. Hey they were good enough for James Bond.

Yeah that it is nice, I expect the 2nd crown moves the internal bezel. The 1-12 bezel is enough for most (all?) of my needs.
What I actually do is use my cheap Casio analog and move the dive bezel to indicate 5x the time in the other zone. It works. If I needed 2 or more extra zones I’d buy a Casio digital with the worldtime function.
What I’d really like maybe is a dive automatic with an internal bezel for other time zone and the normal dive bezel. Or a chronograph quartz version with an internal tachymetre and either the dive or 1-12/24 external movable bezel.

Just random thoughts.

Also, to report on my 70s Tissot SeaStar automatic that I had serviced.
It is running very well about 6 months in. I found it was running a bit too fast but some advice has helped with that. I’m wearing it every second day pretty much but am not that active, and don’t wear it when I am (don’t want to sweat into the leather band too much) I give it a small wind before wearing and a full wind on the other days. With the wind being much closer to full the time keeping as improved and is now pretty close to rock solid.
I haven’t had to adjust the time outside of daylight savings adjustment for the last few months.
Very pleased I invested in the service, should have done it years ago.

Best place to start is do a youtube search. And do a Seiko mod google search for companies like Crystaltimes and Namoki. Long Island Watches even sells practice watches.

I feel myself being drawn into the Seiko diver modding rabbit hole! I've already started looking at parts on the sites posted by @marchone, which are cool.

Long Island Watch is a great resource, even for the watches themselves because their Islander brand dive watches accept parts for popular Seiko models and would be great modding platforms. I might start with one of those, then change the dial, hands, bezel insert, and maybe chapter ring.

Got a new Seiko 5 yesterday, ref. SRPD59K1. I've wanted a classic orange monster (SKX series) since I started collecting. Since they're out of production, this seems like a fair substitute for me, personally, at least Does not have the 20 bar water resistance like the classic but has hacking/manual winding with the 4R36 movement.

I've always loved the look of the orange monster with a silicone strap, but this came with an oyster style bracelet out of the box. So I switched it with my older Seiko Superior which came with a silicone strap.

Bond has worn Omega since GoldenEye I think, but Connery Bond was known for a few lingering shots of his Sub. Roger Moore era Bond wore digital Seikos too!

Love that Maratac - classic design.

I'm a Seiko/Omega fan, and currently wear this one everyday:

I had an Omega Seamaster self-winding in high school, but lost it somewhere along the way in the next ten years after that...still feel regret to this day, as it was a 60's model.

Yes, I have 3 of them. The field watch above, a pilot's watch and a diver.

The field and diver's watches are both titanium with see through casebacks. All three have domed sapphire crystals (my weakness) and lume so bright it brings a tear to my eye. Maratac also sells a GMT quartz watch, but I'm not terribly interested in that one. It's been a year or so since I bought a new watch.
