This isn't an automatic watch so if this post is off base, feel free to delete, but If watches could tell a story, this one could tell some cool ones. I was 13 years old (~1978), my Mom had to stop at the neighborhood jewelry store, when those were a thing; I see this watch and am stricken. Long story short, the owner lets me put it on layaway and I come in every week and put money on it till it's finally mine. To put this into perspective, I turned 59 a few months ago.
Anyway, this watch has been with me through boot-camp and has travelled all over the world with me - it is a true testament to Seiko quality. While the battery is dead, I have 100% confidence that it would work flawlessly with a new one. This is when quartz watches became a thing, many, many years ago.

) era, my bicycle era, my whisky era, my basses era... Thanks god I am not very rich, I have a wife and kids, and I'm reasonable, so I have way more spent time on forums and geeked the hell out of these topics than really collected them.
