Anyone else just HATE Apple?

All I know is my Mac works.
I have had 1 crash (sudden shut down and loss of data) in 20 years of using them.
I don't want to get inside and fix or add or do stuff to it.
I like that I can just plug stuff in and without going through a bunch of steps, it works. Driver this, C-drive that, whatever.

The year I had to use a PC in my office was the worst every. Thank good we went back to Mac notebooks.

Arguing Mac or PC is like arguing about pick or fingerstyle. What works for you? What do you want to accomplish? Both have their plus points.

I've been using Macs since the green Apple 2e and the Mac Classic with the tiny screen. It's what I'm used to. I like plug-and-play and I like the aesthetics. I'll agree, I don't like the price.

I've been working in advertising agencies for 9 years. We all use exclusively Macs. The current agency I work at uses Final Cut Pro, Pro Tools for our TV commercials and Photoshop, Illustrator and QuarkXpress for print. Most agencies I work for have fewer Mac techs for support cuz you just don't need them that often. The problem that happens the most is you run out of memory because the programs we use are so intensive.

I'm still using a dual-processor G4 that I bought in 2003. So it's 4-years old! It still works great! I run Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Logic Express, Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro on it and although it's a bit slower than the G5 I have at work, I don't feel like I HAVE to upgrade. I love my Mighty Mouse, it LOOKS like a one-button mouse but it's really a 2-button mouse and I just LOVE the scroll ball instead of wheel. I have an old 30 gig generation 3 iPod that still works great. And at home I have AirPort wireless...I plugged it in, set it up with a password and voila...WIRELESS!

My parents have had nothing but problems with the 3 PC computers they bought within the 4 years I've had my Mac. They're still on the phone with support over their recent Dell purchase. My Mac worked great straight out of the box! I haven't had it in the shop since I bought it, and I use it intensively for video editing and music recording.

I suppose I am a Mac snob since I won't use a PC if I don't have to. And I start drooling when I go in the Apple Store. I say once you go Mac, you never go back :D

I'm an old-time PC user since the 286 days and an AMD fan. My computers always 'just worked' for me. Maybe that's cuz I cared to maintain them in good shape?
What I like about PCs is that you can get a system for everyday computing for very little $$, Macs on the contrary are way more costly. Assume that I need a computer for word-processing/spreadsheets/net - I'll definately get by with a modest and dirty cheap Sempron processor, ASRock motherboard, 40GB HDD and a decent amount of RAM. In case of Macs, the only cheap solution is going second hand.

As for my own interaction with Mac, I always became frustrated. Why when I tap the mouse pad of MacBook it doesn't recognize it as a click? Why when I'm inside a directory list of 500 items, I can't start typing the name of the folder I want and get it auto selected? etc... For me Macs are just counter-intuitive.

Oh and as for some one comparing a G4 Mac to a PC-laptop: it's not a fair comparison. Laptops will always lag because they inherently have narrower system bus.

In order for taps to be recognized as clicks you need to go into System Preferences and turn this on. This function is turned off by default (which is fine by me).

Not anymore. Laptops are being produced with 800 / 1066MHz busses now.

No, I LOVE apple and I am one of the fanboys. Why? Because I have never had anything go wrong with anything apple that I own, they have awesome customer support (my mom's ipod wouldn't format for PC) and my ipod plays music, that is what it is supposed to do AND I have no idea where you get the idea that they are over priced. I have never seen a more user friendly mp3 player with more space for less money. Almost every person that I know owns an ipod and no one has ever had one break, so I also don't know where you get that idea from. My macbook? Super easy to use, everything is plug in and run it, it literally takes 2 seconds to install something, no having to run through an install wizard that freezes up when ever you use it. Sorry, macs are easy to use and reliable. They might not be as cheap as a dell, but then again, they aren't as cheap as a dell.

if you've never seen one go to best buy and have a look around at creative products ;)

I've been a mac hater for years but it's growing on me. But IPODs are the one of the worst products of today's trendy marketplace. You can get better for less and people are ignorant to it because they would rather watch a TV advertisement than look at a spec sheet....

I'm not particularly astute when it comes to computers, but I use both a Mac and a PC. I have a Macbook, which I like very much, that is utilized specifically for database searching and writing. The home PC, a Dell, is my 'play on' computer, where I store pictures, files, DVD,s etc, as well as the unit that my wife does most of her school work on. Either system has certain pros and cons, which is why I own them both. I don't understand the rabidity of the 'PC vs. Mac' debate, but then again, I don't understand religious/wartime/personal fanatacism either.

Well.. I just love how Mac just works.. I don't need to format every 3 months, don't need Norton Scan to pop up every Friday to slow down my computer, (With Vista) I don't need to click Allow whenever I try to do something, Don't need to download bunch of softwares (including a proper browser) Don't need to search for drivers... list goes on..

I don't mind XP and Linux but I still prefer Mac

Vista is something else..

I am not trying to be a jerk here, but there was ways around all of the problems you listed. No one should have to format every 3 months :eyebrow:

Norton Scan sucks, get something more lightweight and less resource hoggish, and you'd be fine. AVG Free, NOD32, whatever.

You don't need to click to Allow things everytime, there are plenty of ways around it. Searching for drivers? That rarely happens to me and when it does it's a quick process. Downloading software is not an issue and is fairly quick as long as you have decent specs. Just use a different browser than IE in regard to web browsing.

The fact that you use a Mac is fine, and I have no problem with it. Just realize that any problems you had with a windows machine may very well be your own fault. It is not difficult to keep the machine clean and running smoothly.
