Anyone else NOT into lightweight mini rigs?

At the risk of being a "not-know-it-all", what are those speakers in the bottom cab (assuming the box is an SVT of course)?
Those whizzer cones should add some serious upper mid/lower treble...
Ampeg PR810h with upgraded drivers - I believe they are Eminences (104....something??) and there is a thread here on TB somewhere about this cabinet.

Originally they were separate rigs, with a SVT-6Pro powering just the four Hartke's and I bought the Mesa & fridge for myself. Long story short, my church wound up buying it from me and due to lack of storage space I 'stored' the fridge along with the Hartkes (originally in a horizontal configuration with the Ampeg cab in the middle, but due to stage space this vertical orientation works much better).

I don't have another to compare it with but I believe they do help with mids and that's just what I need for the metal context I use it in. I still keep the tweeters on also, and it sounds plenty full when it's just the 400 on top of it, sans Hartke's.

It was, but now it has Deltalite neos, an upgraded crossover and an EBS HD350 in it. Sounds amazing. The horn (tweeter) will soon be change to a JBL Super tweeter. So basically the cab is a Carvin. I'd like to strip off the rat fur and bedliner it, but don't currently have the time. The Carvin cabs are pretty solid and no particle board. You should go for it.

I like the idea, but have held off as the cab w/ stock drivers is kinda heavy anyway. How much weight do the neo drivers save you?

This could be a good solution if it ends up being a nice manageable weight. I also have an RL210, so dropping neo drivers in that would give me a 2 x 210 option at 2 ohms and 500W. That'd be kinda cool.

I don't get why everybody loves Jaco. Adam Clayton is the worst bass player ever. Using a pick sucks. Real bass players don't slap. Neo speakers sound like crap. My 4x10/1x15 rig sounds great. Flatwounds sound like mud. Precision basses are better than jazz basses. If your technique is good there's no need for compressors. I don't need to use any pedals. The tone is from your hands. The tone is from your strings. The tone is from the pickups. The tone is from the body wood. The tone is from the fingerboard wood. String through bridges sound better than top loaders.

I figure we might as well get it allllll out of our systems.

Did I miss anything?

There’s no $$$ to be made above the 5th fret.
Jaco only needed 4 strings.

My .02

I'm guessing that the neos knocked close to 20 pounds off of the cab. They only weigh around 3-4 pounds each.

I'll take this all day over my SVT, easy to move and sounds 95% as good. Cuts thru if no FOH available. Entire rig weighs about the same as just the SVT head.

One thing I think is kinda humorous is that years ago solid state equals crap. Now that class D is out, now those same solid state class A/B lead sleds sound awesome.
It’s relevance to what came before. Tubes sounded better than ss, but ss became better and more reasonable to use.

Now that ss is king, the class d has some improving to do before it becomes a standard. Until micro chip amps cone out...

Wow!! The OP certainly got an earful! Although I don't recall anything being said that trashed on the fairer sex but I picked bass guitar so I'm obviously not the sharpest knife in the drawer. That being said; I do prefer the way my 4x10 Hydrives look with that 2500 watt Mackie with the two channel 31 band eq sitting on top than my little Mini-Mega. Just from an aesthetics standpoint. I'm still not liking the " no amps on stage" thing. What I see are two groups of musicians, wannabe rock stars and wannabe local musicians. Not that either group is wrong just differing visions and hopes for what they want to get out of their musical journey.
I hate sushi and coffee. Someone else likes sushi and coffee. Big deal.
you don't like coffee?! The horror!
