Anyone else not like horns?

I like the look of horns, but I also think some single cut basses can look awesome.

I don't like horns OR single cut Basses, I think they're quite ugly. Tweeters are OK, I used to turn my Tweeters completely off, THAT was a huge mistake, The clarity of my notes are so much better now with the Tweeters turned on.

I understand why they are there and their purpose. I just don't like the way they look aesthetically. Probably a sacrilegious viewpoint. But I can't be the only one, can I?

You mean, like... trombones and trumpets?

Or you mean that you prefer ellipsoidal basses?

The trumpet is probably my least-favorite instrument.

I honestly get a wee bit peeved when I come across a bass that's a rather sweet feeling/sounding player when it's on my knee, but the horn is nowhere near long enough to balance on a strap. I think Warwick is terrific, but I can't tell whether they designed their Thumb bass to sound heavenly or to neck dive with the best of them.

...no offense to any of the faithful who rock them thangs... Love 'em, but can't live with 'em

Saxophones are reeds, having no wood in their construction. If you dig bari saxes, Check out Adrian Rollini (bass sax).

Hate brass. Belongs ins Salvation Army Orchestra.
Strings ring and have tone. Tone is of huge importance to musical sound. That is why hitting different logs with a stick still occurs.

This whole thread has wound up producing much more humour than I anticipated. I was really referring to the ubiquitous protrusions on our instruments, and not the sound of brass instruments....which I happen to love.
