Anyone ever get discouraged?

That you care enough about it you're bummed is a very, very good sign. Everyone has doubts and goes through times of depression about their playing even after years of doing it and reaching very high levels of competence and artistic achievement. Don't let anything stop you...find positive, supportive people to play with and leave the negative ones behind. A friend doesn't cause feelings of doubt he helps you through them.

the true definition of a Guitard. What a $#&^*(*(. Do not listen to him, seperate youreslf from the negative #$%&%^*$&*$^& that he is.
Practice, learn, live in the glory of learning something, then move on too learn more.

Dump the chump. A vast difference exists between speaking your mind and being a #%^&$%^&%^.

Best of Luck,
Wesley R.

hahaha don't get discouraged dude, move at your own pace. I remember I had this problem (and still do) where I feel like I'm not good enough, why cause there are two other bassists who are monster players compared to me and put me to shame (well they are nice guys just a lot better) but that only makes me want improve more and prove myself to be good. I remember in grade 9 these kids were all about Iron Maiden and how speed is great, so I practiced with my speed and kept up, then one of ther other ones played Invaders (a harder maiden lick) and I thought it was hard, so after a few more months practice I see Invaders give it a try and it's not so hard :). Now my next step will be not improving skill ( even though I am still not perfect) and work on improvising and working with a band.

Good Luck
