Anyone got a new puppy or kitten or something?

Go check out the dog. Some private rescue shelters will let you take the dog home for 72 hours or so to see if it is the right fit. The first time I met my current dog at the shelter he growled at me when I first tried to pet him. Turns out some douche guy had beat him and he did not trust men. But even so I still had a good feeling about him. I took him on a trial basis and he came home with me for the weekend. I worked all weekend trying to build his trust in me. By Monday morning I was his best buddy and he became very affectionate with me.. Now, two years later, he is the best dog I have ever had. Just sayin.

Good idea. Yeah, my Frenchie "Tank" was probably beaten by previous owner, wanted to melt into the floor if someone just looked at him. Get a freakin punching bag you douche-bags!

I tried to adopt a whole family once, Children's Relief Fund said is $24/kid per month. Had to pick one, couldn't afford the whole clan.

The one that got given away. We thought he would be good company for the Frenchie. The older guy got tired of the kid playing piggy-back.... The punk "Watson" is now with my step-daughter so he sleeps over here occasionally.

She's a sweetheart & full of energy (and I mean full) but she rarely shuts the hell up. I've had cats all my life but this my first Siamese & the rumors are true. She talks for the sake of hearing herself talk.

Why should I, I'm the boss here, not a cubicle dweller surrounded by exotic women? Plus I have several computer setups here so I basically can wander from point A to B and not miss a beat. But seriously, how the heck did a family photo, a husband & wife spouse picture and a band picture, all with no animals end up in an animal thread? Guess we just have a different idea of appropriate attention hounding. "Attention hound" is not a very appreciated breed imo. It's a social grace to let the other kids be the coolest in the room occasionally, especially if you have to try too hard at it. Looks forced. YMMV
