Anyone have a bass refinished recently? Who did the work?

A lot of times people say a refin won't add any value over a stripped 'hippie' refin but I've seen good period correct refins add value in practice. To me, one that's been sprayed with a (very difficult to remove) modern finish is worth less than the 'hippie refin' as it's then more work to get back close to original.

I told the auto shop exactly what color I wanted (with the paint color code) and they had no problem with it. They even gave me a little bottle of touch up paint when I picked it up. I was very happy with the outcome. For a simple solid color, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Kind of my thinking when I had my 2011 Highway One refinished. The burst was nothing spectacular - and everyone has bursts. The bass itself had no special value aside from it being a great player and special to me. I'll never sell mine, so not at all concerned about resale. If my bass had been a 1960's era bass I'd have thought differently.

Last body I sent out for finishing, I used Home - BloomDoom Guitar Co.
He's a former MJT employee. He does nitro. Relic, or "closet clean"
He told me 8 weeks, it was done in 7.
Fair price, great guy to deal with.

I've also used MJT, very little good to say about my 2 experiences with them.
If you can find something good in their Ebay store, Great. If you send them something to refinish, or buy a complete body, painted from scratch, good luck. TERRIBLE customer service. Both times, 11-14 week jobs took 21-24 weeks. No explanations

Good to know. Looks like quality work. Some of the custom color shades look off to me but they can be hard to photograph and there are lots of photos so it's easy to make an informed choice. I particularly like how many shades of blonde he offers. What did you get?
