Anyone interested in getting some LaBella Quarter Rounds?

I came across a new set of LaBella Quarter Rounds on eBay for $25 and decided to try them. Of course, since they are no longer in production, they turned out to be one of my favorite non-flatwound/tapewound strings I’ve ever tried. I’ve read that LaBella will still make them as a special order if you buy a minimum of 36 sets. I’m getting to be an old guy and I’m definitely not going to be around long enough to use 36 sets, but I’d love to have a half dozen or so. I’d like to see if I can find enough TB brothers/sisters who would be up for buying a few sets that I can put in a special order. Anyone interested?

Nice find. I was sad when LaBella discontinued their Quarter Rounds, but since then have found other strings I am happy with (EB Cobalt flats and GHS Pressurewounds). I suspect most other users have moved on as well.

Yes, I did like Quarter Rounds, but found the qualities I liked about them even more in GHS Balanced Nickels.

I would be interested in trying some Quarter Rounds again, on a different bass, but not sure I want to commit to even six packages.

I’ll have to give the GHS Balanced Nickels a try. If I find even 3 or 4 people who want five sets each of the Quarter Rounds, I may go ahead and order a batch and then list some for sale on TB for members who just want a couple of sets.

Thanks for that.
I’ve have tried bassexchange in the past. Regretfully, while they are shown on the website as being in stock, I have never been able to get them to load in my cart to buy them. Tomorrow I will call the shop and ask if they actually have them. I don’t know why I haven’t done that before now.
I called them up in July after trying to order with no success like you. The guy on the phone said they are totally out of stock, and that the website is actually an old (no longer working/updated) site. So... it doesn't work.

BTW I'd be in for getting a couple of sets if a group buy ever happens. I've never tried them, but I love all the groundwound strings I've tried, and I'm really curious about these, so I could get 2-3 sets, why not.

I love them on my 90's fretless frankenJazz. Just enough zing, but doesn't irritate the rosewood gods. Lot less string noise too.

I'd be down for a few sets at least. 4 or 5 string sets? I have both, but wouldn't mind sacrificing a B for my 4-stringers if that's what is available. Just scored a new-to-me MTD 535 FL that came with MTD rounds on an ebony board..

I would prefer to get 5-string sets, but would certainly settle for 4-string sets if necessary. If just a few more TB members decide they want some sets, I’ll get a quote from LaBella.

Just a friendly bump...

If we're doing 5-string, I'm down for 6 sets.

Just put a set of LTF's on the 535...do far so good. We'll see how I still like them in a month or three

To @Cutter8 ...

Considering this thread was started a little over two years ago, I'm curious to see if you're still looking for people for this 36-set special order you were proposing?

Still in for 5-6 sets if we do 5-string.

Incidentally, tried the LTF's on my 535; they did not make the cut. Currently have EB Slinky's on it, but I think the QR's would really do the trick...
