Anyone into expensive flashlights?

I guess I'm a geek too, I have FOUR Surefires and two Maglights. The Surefire 6p, stays in my SUV's console, The M3 is mounted on MY AR-15 and the E2 is my carry light, I also have a Pistol Light mounted on a Kimber Custom shop .45. The 2 AA Mag is in a kitchen cab (great for housework and the 4 D cell mag in in the tool box. I use to work in police supply and right now Surefire is the standard, they are not cheap, but their professional standards, SOCAM, Navy Seals, FBI, and their workmanship make them a cut above. Maglite makes a quality piece but the switches on the big ones are suspect. Streamlight makes a great rechargeable and the best lights for fire fighting. Pelican makes some quality products too and Princeton makes great headlamps.

The E2 Surefire is still the most incredible piece of lighting on the market. Not much bigger then a good ball-point pen and more powerful then a 4 -D cell Mag light. Never leave home without one. Sold a lot of them to pro sound technicians.

I had a flashlight that doubled as an emergency lamp (flashing red), had a radio, compass, and it could float!!!!!
Funny thing, the flashlight did not work.

Seriously, A three cell mag lamp is what I have. I have had it a long time and yet have not had the opportunity to bop anyone with it.

Here is some good advise, NEVER buy a three cell flashlight. Batteries just don't get sold that way.

ANyone here that is reading all these and wishing they had a really bright flashlight you can get into the bright superlight thing for 20 bucks if you buy a Brinkmann Maxfire LX at Wal-Mart. Doesn't have the quality or warranty of the Surefires but it's just as bright. You can get the cheapest Surefire for $27-$30. LIfetime warranty, palm-sized, twice as bright as a 3D maglite that has just received fresh batteries.

I use the Invalid Link Removed LED light. It isn't too expensive, uses one regular AA battey (which lasts a looong time), is very rugged, and won't need a replacement bulb.
Good to hear. I've been checking out the Inova lights...nice stuff. Seems to get great review. I like the X5 tactical...I'm probably gonna get one. I'll post a review when I do.
