Double Bass Anyone recognize this label?

An Ebay seller has a bass he thinks from the mid-'80s that appears to be a Kay C-1 copy, extensively refinished. Its only identifying info is this partial label. Anyone seen one like this? (I think it's probably upside-down in this photo, hard to be sure.) Thanks!

I think that I see "Attempting to fence a disguised stolen cheap bass". I could be wrong!

It is odd to see swirl marks from an orbital sander inside the back.

That does look like it was scraped off on purpose.
