Anyone use a 610 cab?

Do you miss the tweeter in a 6x10?
I have a 2x10 and yesterday at rehearsal I was playing with the tweeter on/off switch. I couldn't get the same sound with the tweeter off and increasing the treble in my amp. I really like the sound of a cab with tweeter.

Doesn't quite qualify but I use an LDS 8 X 8 (which it makes it 4 better than a 6 X 10...do the math) which has roughly the same dimensions. Single cab, tilt-back wheels / handle so it's easy to stow and transport. I can't hear where it sounds markedly better than my Acme B-2's or B-4's, though.

I probably would - I've grown accustomed to having a little tweeter in my sound - I usually have the L-pad @ around 25%...

I do. I own/use a Mesa PowerHouse 6x10 and indeed as someone else said it is it is a lot easier to move than a 4x10and damn close to if not the power of an 8x10 in a smaller size and weight. I love my cabinet, big clear sound and loud!

Yep, the Mesa Powerhouse I owned had the "player control network" where you could adjust the tweeter and use a switch to change the crossover freq.

It was super easy to tilt and roll although it was a heavy pig. Awesome sounding cabinet!!! I would have kept it but I was planning on moving and sold it even though my move fell through.

Sweet cab. Handled my DB750 or SWR MoBass w no problems ever.

I also had a pre-Fender Goliath Sr. Loved it as well. Would still have it if I needed a 6x10. It was loud and punched like hell.

I also had a 8x8 (Traynor) that I sold to my buddy, but still use whenever we play in the town he lives in. Sounds awesome with his LMII. Roughly the same dimensions as a 610, just a touch smaller.

I use an old 70's Acoustic 6x10.

It's remarkably light... but 2 of the 6 speakers are blown (because of that i only paid $60 for it)... replacing speakers is my ish now. It's servicing as a practice space cab, but i KNOW it has more potential!!

I have no clue how to go about doing replacing things, though... just buy 2? buy 6? Life was simpler with a 2x15 :(

I'd love to salvage it and make it useable again. 6x10 at 4 ohms is VERY appealing to me.

I love my new Ampeg SVT-610HLF. Sounds much better than the last few years of this model made by SLM. Lots of clear midrange and excellent lo-bass response.

My favorite 610 is the Bergantino NV610, although it couldnt be more different from the SVT. The NV610 is the end of the road in the search for tone for many, many people. Probably the best cabinet I have ever heard.

A 410 just doesn't cut it for my main band. No matter what stage I'm on, how loud we get, or how far down stage I stray, I can still feel my SVT610 thumping behind me.

Edit: I like bright gritty tones, but don't miss the tweeter at all. IMO, tweeterless cabs sound much better when you're dialing in grit, even mild grit... no "buzzy bees" sound.

I went ahead and picked up the SVT-610. I got to play with it for just a few minutes. There's a hissing sound, I guess from the sweeter cause it goes away if I turn the knob on the back. I like it so far, it doesn't seem to break up as quick as my GB 210 4 ohm cab, which is what I'm after. A friend is gonna bring some 15's over tonight and I'm gonna AB them all. Maybe its me or the head, just want a nice clean tone even at higher volumes if possible.

Yeah, I got it to "fart" out a little too. I have the EQ set all at noon as well as the Volume, Boost, and Woofer knobs all at noon it sounds good, If I bump the Woofer knob up anymore I don't like it. My Genz Benz 210 "farts out" quicker though. I did try a single 15 today too and am really tossed up between the 610 and 15.

I'm using my US Peavey Cirrus with it.

This is driving me nuts.

Just haven't been able to find that tone that's in my head lol.
