I would say that Steinbergers are still sought after and that there is a small number of them in existence, growing population, diminishing number of Steinbergers due to fire, theft, breakage, abuse. The number of people that are interested is greater than the number of Steinbergers in existence so the price remains fairly high. In general, are Steinbergers in demand? No. The company is gone and n one basses are being made. Are vintage Steinbergers in demand by a small slice of the population? Yes.
