I absolutely love my DG212N, best new cab I've had in along time and I've had a lot of brands. I think the issue is capturing an accurate representation of the cab to share. I've been trying to record demos of it and I just don't have the proper gear to actually represent it online. When I record a demo it sounds nothing like what you actually hear sitting with the amp, it's frustrating. I'd find one from a shop that will allow you to return it if you're not happy, and give it a try yourself, it's killer.

You say you love your DG cabs but what kind of music do you play and what sound do you go for. Everything I hear is with a huge amount of middle or distortion. Does your DG 212N have a decent and worm low end to match the articulation that It obviously does have, judging by the videos I've been able to find.

Did you find the video by BassTheWorld? Check 1:27 for a pretty warm (mic’d) sound out of the 2x12.

From personal experience I‘d say the cabs will definitely put out what you feed them, meaning: Is your amp capable of producing a warm tone?

I’m using my two DG212s with GK 700RBs for punch and definition but like to use preamps and low pass filters to "warm up" my sound.

Yes, I saw this one and It's the closest to what I like but still looking for deeper, wormer. I have a feeling that the Aguilar SL 212 will get closer to what I'm aiming for. You're right about the amp. I have a Epifani UL-901, I like It for It's simplicity. I also tend to run my amps flat and get the tone from my basses. I have a Pre CBS Jazz and P but my main gigging basses are my 66 Jazz and when I need to go more contemporary I use a Pat Wilkins 5 string.

I would say that the Aguilar 212 is more pillowy. I would not recommend the SVT 212, as it is super punchy and not very polite.

I agree, DG vids are geared toward their distortion so its hard to get an idea of what some of these products sound like clean. I had the 212 for awhile but I have since sold it. The cab was great for the lows but it really had a lot of mids. that and the combination of a class-d amp made it really really mid heavy and hard to dial in tones sometimes. Looking back now I think I should've kept the cab and just sold my class-d amps and got what I have now (Aguilar DB-750) I think the cab would've sounded excellent with that setup.

Overall though it was a great cab for the $$$ just know that it is very mid focused.

Oh and I play in an instrumental rock band called FRISSON. Here is the apple music link, you can find it on all platforms. Cognitive Time Disorder and Nothing System have the DG 212N and a GK Legacy 800 on the tracks with a bit of compression.

Adding my 2 cents…
Just got a DG212N this week and played out with it last night. I started using an Alpha Omega 500 about a month ago. Holy crap, I love this rig. My band loves me more now too LOL.
For reference, I'm coming from an 80s Ampeg SVT classic with a 410 (sometimes 610 or 810). My usual sound is kind of like that now typical bright and punchy punk sound (Rancid, etc) with a bit of overdrive.
The weight difference between the SVT rig and this setup is obviously a really big deal (no more trying to round up a drunk bandmate to help load out) that could make me tolerate a lot of other shortcomings, but I have found no shortcomings yet. The sound clarity is the thing that stands out the most to me. I often had some trouble with mids getting a little muddy with the 410 (even with the AO head), or losing the low mids in our drummer's heavy use of toms - but neither my bandmates nor I ever really noticed that all the mids could've been more clear until now. But that doesn't mean it is lacking anything in low end, though. The lows do rumble the guts.
On stage, all band members had no problem hearing bass, which I assume is due to the 12" speakers dispersing the sound better than the 10s do.
I originally planned on using this just for the smaller places, but I think the Darkglass 212N will totally replace the 410 for me.
The cab looks really, um, "classy", too, like a nice piece of furniture.

I've never heard of you. Nobody I know if is reviewing you or talking about you. Does that mean you're embarrassed of yourself, or that you're "garbage"? My bet is that's a silly conclusion - that the absence of talk about you, or reviews of you don't have a thing to do with your worth or confidence in yourself.

I suggest you think differently.

Looking for a new 212 4ohm cab and was really surprised by the lack of info other than the specs on the DG NE series.

Don't think I've seen a launch of a new product line that months after the release has no audio or video demos out there. At least that I can find anyway. It's almost like DG themselves is embarrassed by them? Not really any chatter to speak of in the DG Users club. So far I've seen 2 people post that they've bought one.

So are they garbage? Or are they so good that people can't stop playing them long enough to record examples and a review? Or just meh and not worth talking about? Or have I just somehow been unable to find the reviews and audio examples?

I recently purchased the DG212N and love it. I am using the Microtubes 900v2 to drive it, and I just ordered (will be here Tuesday) the DG410N to run with it. I am also confused as why there is a lack of reviews/videos on them, but so far the 212 has not disappointed and I am anxious to plug in the 410 as well.

Thx! I love the look and finish of the cabs for sure. I liked the DG900 well enough but the Tone Hammer 700 really suits my sound so don't plan on moving away from that. Darkglass saying these cabs are voiced specifically for their amps was interesting and wanted to see/hear reviews of exactly what they meant by that since they mostly known for overdriven sounds and harder rock/metal genres. It sounds like some of that maybe is attributed to the crossover though rather than the cab itself overall. Cheers

I was wondering if anyone was going to notice that . FYI, its the Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book of Bass and its fantastic. Definitely a great read while stuck home during these crazy times.
