Are the SVT covers from Ampeg any good?

Just want to keep it from getting any scratches on the Tolex and the face.

Keep in mind the weight of the head and especially the cabinet and the kind of abuse that can cause on covers. You might want to at least look into cases IMO

IMHO, taking the abuse instead of the head is what the cover's all about, and a road case will make an already heavy head almost unbearable. I have no idea about the quality of those Ampeg covers, but they look pretty solid and heavy duty to me.

I have several covers in use this moment:
I have a SVT CL head cover, a SVT810 and a SVT410HLF cover.
Very nice looking but most important very heavy duty.
Beats any case (this means if you manage your own(non roady) transport that is) a flightcase (wood) really ads up the weight which is allready impressive with ther SVT CL.

For my backup gear I use an ABS SKB roller-rack (looks like a travel suitcase with a "pull-out" handle) which holds a SVT4-Pro and a SVP-Pro pre-amp for 2nd presets.

I think I may pick one up for my SVT-VR. I don't want the head getting scratched/dinged up but also don't want to add more weight to an already behemoth head.

For us Europeans you can only order from the Ampeg website-store but it's closed for a very long time

I strongly recommend Susan's padded covers from Studio Slips.

Strong, fit like a glove and machine washable.

She can also add accessory pockets if you wish.

Simply the best slip covers.

I have been enjoying the Ampeg covers since December, they are very nice and durable too. We have been getting a lot of rain (for us) and I never worry about load in and out with the covers.

The only real downside is being the nerd with the amp cozys .

I picked one up for the 350h I gave my boy.
Very nice. Strong and well made. Does a great job protecting those EQ sliders.
I just ordered a cover off e-bay for my old SVT head.
Road cases just take up too much room.
