Anyone who says they need a tweeter has clearly not played through a NV610.

I like my tweeter, very smooth, even cranked. That being said I do 30-40% depending on string age

Gotta have a tweeter. I don't keep mine full on though. Usually around 75% or 2-3 o'clock on the dial. If cabs didn't have them, I'd have a separate tweeter box sitting on top. I play R&B, Soul, Motown, Funk, Pop and some rock.

For me? Nope. I feel that companies have no business putting a tweeter on a bass cabinet.

Unless the cab is poorly designed (inefficient woofers and screaming-loud tweeters) I'd rather cut highs at the amp than at the cab.

Sounds interesting. But what advantage does the 3-2-3 arrangement bring to the party? Are the banks of three angled off axis in some way?

It allows the drivers to be mounted closer together allowing easier coupling. With the drivers I'm using, it's a collective 5.2 cu ft Vas and a 30 Hz F3 in a ported enclosure--at least that's what the calculator tells me. It's really just a conceptual build, but if I like it, I'll build more because these cabs will still be pretty small and lightweight.

My current cab doesn't have one. The response of the Batefaced cabs is so even that I don't need one.
My GK cabs had them and I think I ran them all the way open.
My Ampeg combo amp has one, and I run it all the way open, but I can't hear a difference either way. The cab is a little muddy no matter what.

I used to love tweeters. Now I run it pretty low. My tastes changed over the years. Plus I use a lot of dirt. I still like to have a little of it in there, just not as much as I used to. I def like having one in any cab I use though.

I generally like a good tweeter. I find when I use a flat wound strung P bass, it really doesn't do much as the highs just aren't there anyway (at least with the strings I tend to use). With rounds I like to hear the highs a bit especially with a J bass. I call it the Jazz bass "ring". I am not a slapper or tapper but I like the brightness of a bit of tweeter with rounds. Probably my ears going.

Plus I use Aguilar amps which are not particularly heavy on the "zing" as some others. Aggie cabs seem to blend the tweeters in nicely rather than adding just a bunch of hiss and click. Same with Bergantino cabs, in my experience. Could I live without a tweeter? Sure, but it is nice to have the option when it is designed properly.

noone knows what's the best for you, just try a cab with tweeter and one without.
I had a 12" without tweeter and had a 12" with a 2" horn, preferred the latter by a huge margin.
I own a 15" with a 1" piezo tweeter and preferred it to a tweeterless 12".
but that's just me.

My main cab has on/off/-6 so I attenuate it.

My old combo/practice/small gig rig is on/off only, so it stays off, a Lil to harsh with it on.

IMHO While I appreciate the desire for amicable high frequencies I find that tweeters don't behave quite the same as regular drivers, especially with transients and when pushing them to growl etc. (OD for example). Also, I have noticed that they also sometimes let through unwanted anomalies depending on the crossover network.

if a tweeter is there = i use it to one extent or another given the 'it depends' circumstances.
if there is no tweeter = big whup.

IME: in a given cabinet, the right, robust 4"-5" full range driver (with a proper/appropriate x-over) is always better than the tweeters most manufacturers use.

If you want to pop and slap, a tweeter might be to your liking. Always good to get a cab with a rheostat or switch to control or pad the volume level of the tweeter.
