In an attempt to see how many users are lefty compared to righty, vote yes or no. The LU has quite a few members but how does it compare to the overall number? Let's find out...


P.S. For those of you who play righty but are left-handed, you can still vote lefty.:D

Ambi's should vote lefty. I am ambidextrous too, Mongo, as is most of my family. As far as I know almost all of us are somewhat lefty dominant. Unless you can seriously write flawlessly with either hand?

You bring up a point I've wondered about, and it's a different thread/tangent completely. I don't understand at all how there are "handed" instruments. It's not like a piano is completely restrung to make it a lefty piano, for example. Since both hands are vital in playing, I just don't get it.

But I realize that's a different topic for a different thread. Just had to vent it out at least once, though.

I am Left-Handed, right down to my toes. I happily play Right-Handed, in descending order of competence: Bass, Double Bass, Piano, Guitar, Violin, Recorder, Percussion, assorted Brass & Winds.

BTW, I catch, throw, and bat Left-Handed.

My first teacher made me switch to right handed.

Have played that way ever since. ( no regrets)

Same with me. Very left handed, my right arm is useless.
My first teacher though it would be easier for me in the long run, I adapted very quickly (was only 9 though, easier for youngsters). Tried a couple times to play left and just can't, the brain has been wired.

I guess I have no real problems with playing right handed or being asked to. It's made purchases easier and from an aesthetic opinion I've always found left handed bass just not right.
