I'm right handed playing left handed because I miss two fingers on my left hand. By the way, I think left hand bass players should not give in so easily and play right handed. The market has to feel a pressure if it is supposed to make more left hand instruments.

I'm a lefty playing right. My one big regret is that slapping is totally out for me. For some reason my rather un-coordinated right hand cannot handle what is required of it to slap. That's too bad cause I really like the sound.........Bud

A lefty who started out the gate playing righty slap was hard at the beginning. It's hard getting the right wrist to loosen up. Pick up a copy of "Stick Control" for drummers. The first couple of pages are two bar phrases of eighth notes with every combination of left and right. Assign one to your thumb and one to your pulling finger (I did my thumb as left). Groove on the two bar phrases starting at slower speeds and then as you become use to doing it the speed will increase. I am considered by others to be a pretty good slapper but it didn't start out that way.
