Well I guess all of us are fussy to a certain extent. Like I don't like to play basses with too high or too low action. And I did have to give my SX's a fret dressing before I could use them regularly. But the bass you play really only matters to you (and sometimes the people paying you). And if you can get off playing a cheapo, then have fun. I love them. I have 9 basses, and the total cost was less than two Sadowskys. They're not all cheapos, but most are.Well set-up is key. I find myself in a dilemma in that the more technical, faster, and lyrical my playing becomes (on a good bass), the harder it becomes for me to sit-in on a lot of the basses out there. I guess this only really matters for jazz and fusion, though.

And I don't trust myself to install the hardware on it or do any drilling. I wish it were cheaper to just have blocks and binding done on the existing neck. At this point, I'd settle for some of those pearl overlays. I can't find any, unfortunately.
