are you to good to play a squier?

I guess it all (STILL) boils down to what you like.
It may be the lower end of the production line, but that doesn't mean that you can go through 5 or 6 Squires and find one that's "got it".

Same with MIM Jazz basses; I happened on a really good one. Electronics solid, neck straight, body unblemished, etc. You have to "shop around", and there's always going to be someone out there to tell you that you got a piece of crap, but those are the people that are all visual and not TONAL! It's what an axe SOUNDS like that makes all the difference when you play it!

Get what you love; love what you got!!!!!!!;)

Whats with the MIM bashing? I've got a jazz that plays better than pretty much any other bass i've owned. Feels absolutely perfect to me, and couldn't be happier.
I've tried a couple of the new Squiers out, and while they seem pretty solid they felt no where near as good to me. To each there own i guess right?

Yup. To each his own. It's just that each has gotten some of a bad rap because they're made with some "inferior" products to cut costs, so you have to be choosey and try them out before you buy, and then hope the wood of the neck doesn't warp in the future.

I just soldered in a new switchcraft jack on a MIK Squier strat tonight, and the switch will be switched out tomorrow. Other than those issues, the guitar plays very well. Real fat neck is different from any other strat I've ever felt, and the neck is not as sweet as my EJ, but for $50 I'll take it. Neck is like a 50's Les Paul, except small frets. Some of these low cost Fenders are great guitars if you are looking for a bargain. I sold my brother a MIM Squire tele for $50, and he couldn't be happier. It played very well. I think if you have the knowledge to set a guitar up, and fix or upgrade what needs fixing and upgrading, you will do well with just about any guitar. Anyone that can play well can play anything well enough. I wouldn't knock anyone's gear.
Let me add, I bought my daughter a Mike Dirnt Squire Tele bass and that thing rocks.
I think it's from Indonesia, but don't know, as the previous owner sanded off the decals. I guess he didn't like Squires. I think it's a good guitar, and would gig it any day. Has a factory Badass bridge.

I have a few + 3000 dollar instruments. Music is my daily bread.
Just bought myself a Squire CV P-bass. Great bass, best P-bass ive played, including the pre CBS and other vintage P's.
Its just like Fender's, you just have to find a good example.

My MIM Jazz is one of the best Fender basses I've ever played, and I wouldn't like to count how many that includes.

Well [DEL]sometimes[/DEL] most of the time a good sounding bass capable of a good setup that anybody is happy with, is a cheap bass.

I love my squier... and most squiers I've ever played.

I'm doing a squire build right now. I have played some great squires and some crappy mims and mia.

I don't believe in the hype these days. I don't even believe better pickups are nessisarily better. There pickups. All that matters is how it sounds.. If it were a cardboard box with stings that sounded good., that's all that matters.

I'm doing a 62 fender sticker on my squier p bass build along with fiesta red paint and can't wait to tell ppl it's a squire.
