Aria & Aria Pro II Club (Part Two)

Finally got all the parts i need to restore my integra 5-er, except the pups. I'm down to Bart Quad Coil P2 pups or Nord big splits. Going to be wired passive, so what do you guys think? appreciate it and look forward to posting pics.

If you are going to go passive, I would suggest the nordstrands. I've found that barts sound pretty boring without a preamp.

It'll be good to finally see that baby finished! I remember seeing it back when it was first on ebay.

My Aria A-200 was delivered yesterday!!Opened the box and it was an Ibanez !! They shipped me the wrong bass After several calls, I got it straightened out and I should be getting it in another couple of days.

I've been search for a while and I think this is the appropriate place to post. In the mid 90s I traded a computer for this Aria. I was a Cliff Burton and Billy Gould fan and thought it would be cool to own. I played guitar and bass, but was never really serious. This has been in storage since then and I recently found it while trying to clean up a little.

The serial number on the back starts with 101xxxx. Other than that and the following photos, there doesn't seem to be any other identifying information. Can anyone tell me some information on this? Model number, year it was born, etc. I suspect it's an SB-1000 since I got it from a serious Cliff Burton fan. I'm just looking for more information on it, not looking to sell or anything.

Looks like an SB-700 that was made in 1981.

Well the one i saw never sold for the BIN they had it for on ebay, and looked exactly the same, perhaps the seller got sick of ebay and decided to sell local? If not that is some weird coincidence two gutted aria 5-strings!

Not an SB-1000, no B.B circuit.

It was at least a year ago, but probably more (my memory isnt the best...).

I didn't pick it up because I didn't know any pickups that would fit it at the time, and didn't need another 5-string, tho it DID look snazzy

I grabbed it September of 08 from a taxi driver 30 min north of the city. Possible, but the gentleman barely spoke any english. Either way it should be awesome when completed.

Does anyone know where the older Aria's were made? Are they Mastumoku's? Teisco's? or were they made in their own world?

If youn mean OLD, as in, 60's Aria Diamonds, escapes my memory.
But the ones we know most, from the 70s'80s, are mostly Matsumoku, as far as MiJ goes.

That has to be the nicest natural finished SB I've ever seen. The woodgrain is beautiful!

I need a number please...and an idea of what i just bought. Mid 70's/early 90's 4 string in transparent green with an ash body, and Seymour Duncan p.u's stock http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260542367084&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT $130 + shipping. Went from no bass to 3 bass' (bassi) in a week. got a cheap dean Edge 1 for $60, a Squier MB 4 for $120 and this Aria for $130. wife is gonna kill me

Unknown model or year Aria bass. Vintaxe reckons it was made between 63-66. The only identifying marks on it are "Steel reinforced neck made in Japan" on the 5 bolt neck plate. Any info would be really appreciated!

Need some help please guys.. I did have an SB1000JT which my wife kindy imported from Japan for me as it wasnt offered in the UK a couple of years back... unfortunately about 6 months after having it, suffered an acident and snapped the head off.
So, contacted all the local dealers for another ( and claim on the insurance ) wasnt available so i had either a SB100RI or CB to be honest i cant remember but looks wise identical to the JT.

Anyway, cant find the serial number on it anywhere but if it was on a sticker i would have peeled it off when cleaning.

I need help on :

1. Setting the bridge - the action seems way to high - there is no info on these bridges

2. The switch, on my JT it only lit up when you flicked it to down, on this one its on all the time.. weird - if theres a cable in it,

3. the rotary control on the JT used to change the tone dramaically, not much on this one..


All help greatly received.

Hello guys. I'm new here. I have a problem and I hope someone in here will be able to help me. I just picked up an Aria bass. It's Avante series, fretted-5 strings. The problem is that i can't find any information about this bass, not even model number. it does look kinda like Steve Bailey's model, but it has 2 j/j aria pickups, Rosewood fingerboard and it's passive. here're the pics:
