Actually, the bass response of the KT88’s was more appealing, but there is a reliability issue and a bottleneck in terms of availability. It was discussed briefly and I made the decision to opt for the more reliable option. I felt that as a stand alone amp lacking tone controls, reliability was more important, and my hope is the S300 will provide all the low end needed. I found the S300 to be extremely revealing and preferred nearly flat settings. Although the amp is designed around the S300, the idea of making a stand alone all tube amp that could be driven by other sources played into this decision.

Taking it for its first test run in a little bit, and I can't wait!! It's a clone of channel one of a blackline svt at 200 watts with 4 kt88s. AND it only weighs around 50 pounds!!
i have band practice tomorrow so i'll be cranking it a little harder and playing more without the rusty box, i'll see if I can grab some clips!
I finally decided to take a chance on the Oracle!!! It’s a V1 so no DI out. I have a selection of DI boxes to use. Hopefully I can test this out before some of the bigger festivals this summer.
I haven’t played through an amp on a gig for a long time, but I have a B-15S that I use as my practice/recording amp. So I can hopefully dial up the tone I’m looking for and get that to FOH as well as in my IEMs.

Good choice. I've got a v1.5, the big box with the DI out, and have gigged with it for three years, going direct. It's been great for me. Once you get a handle on the Range control, it's actually a pretty powerful EQ.
You can sculpt the low end a ton with combinations of Bass, Range, Lo, and HPF. Mostly I leave the switches off, boost Bass a bit, cut Treble, and keep the Range knob anywhere from 1-4 o'clock, but there are plenty of other sounds if you're looking for them.
I've used my Zephyr a few times that way, worked great. Obviously, you need a decent PA for that.
And it's great in the studio, too. A little while ago I brought my Zephyr and an RNDI and recorded them on separate tracks. The engineer preferred the Zephyr track, maybe because of the EQ set for a sort of Fenderish mild mid scoop, and with the HPF engaged.
Spend some time experimenting with the Range control, you'll find a favorite sound. I think you're gonna love the Oracle.
