Ashdown Bass Graphic EQ

Looks as if it is based on and has the same frequency points as the graphic EQ on the MK500. If so, it should sound killer.
May have the same frequency points as the MK500, but is definitely another of their remakes of a Trace Elliot product, the SM7:

Kind of cool. I wonder:

1 How big it is
2 How the "Shape" feature works
3 What's with the rack handles??

1) 6.1" wide and 5.6" deep
2) It's a classic 1980's mid scoop, popular with slappers. If you never scoop your mids, then this pedal might not be such a great value.
3) Supposedly to keep the VU meter from getting damaged or pushed in. The meter is held in place with double-sided tape, so...

The shape knob probably operates similarly to the enhance on Eden amps, and I suspect that the shape and graphic buttons are simply on/bypass and not mutually exclusive, giving the player two preset options and their possible combination.

This looks like a cool piece of gear, but why on earth would anyone waste pedalboard space on a vu-meter for their equalizer? On an amp I can dig this kind of detail, even though it's pretty obviously more cosmetic than anything, but a pedal?

It's funny how they combine attention to detail and innovative design with features that are pure marketing. Strange company, but definitely one that intends to make its presence in the bass world known, and I think they will.

I like the industrial look. I have a small board -- by pedal count -- so the size of the pedal doesn't both me too much. For some of y'all running 8+ pedals, I could see how this pedal could never exist on your boards. This thing is Eventide sized.

Woo Hoo another noisy EQ, with a case that is too big.

I think my tone problems have ended, I have always needed a real solid boost at 15K for bass.

Maybe ashdown should check out a few pedal treads, and notice that some people re case pedals half this size into even smaller cases.

If you like a VU I know where you can buy one for 3 bucks

Yes and no. I tried their driver pedals and didn't like any of them for my needs, but could easily see their qualities for someone else. But yeah, the size man, the size...:rollno:

Right. I can look at that pedal, and easily see where they could keep all the features and shave at least two inches off the width. The MXR 10 band has 12 sliders (the extra two are input and output gain), and is nowhere near this large. Sure, 4 knobs, but those could be mini-pots and serve the same function. Just seems kind of obvious to me that people who spend this much on a pedal also tend to have pedalboard real-estate issues.

What makes you think it is noisy? Btw, I often boost 16khz.:)
