ahsdowns are darker than your average "modern" amp like GK, but there are "brighter"models in it's line. ABM is dark but can go zingy, MAG line is .... meh...

I think you are generalizing based on hearsay and forum speak. Ashdown's combos and cabs are traditionally voiced for sure, but their heads are very neutral.
nope, i owned few pieces of gear from ASH, mark king head that was imho neutral and hi-fisih a bit voiced, ABM 600W head, good sounding but a bit dark, not that's that bad. MAG 300W head, similar to ABM. MAG 4x10 combo, that thing was just meh..., and perfect ten combo, and that combo was POS dark muddy .
