asian bassists

I'm not Asian myself, but I do enjoy a lot of music by Asian bands. One of my fave Asian bassists is Ikuno, from Noodles

...too many bassists?...or...
and your two cents is not even worth two cents. I hope your pig dog turns on your red-neck racist sister-kissing butt and leaves you for the dingos.

LOL.. Obviously us Asian folks are not loved by everyone. Which is too bad, because when we move in, it usually increases the property values in the neigborhood :-).

go to the "Special Contents" tab and go to Ikuo's section, wait to load and be amazed by his solo!!!!!!

and here we have him playing with his band, formed by Junji, SIAM SHADE's drummer

he was in LapisLazuli, the band that made some [if not all] of Guilty Gear's OST

Have you ever heard of "chopper bass"??? It's a Flea-on-meth slap style that was/is ruling Japan, (well, "Fwee" as they say).

One night, during a break, a stock broker friend of mine in the audience intro'd me to a Japanese client of his who is a "chopper bassist" in his spare time.

I asked him to do a song with my band using one of my basses on the upcoming set and he slapped that thing so silly, (a Precis, yet!), that I had to retune it afterwards!

Trouble was, that style was his only strength.

I suppose a search engine could tell you more.

I don't know what you mean by 'chopper bass' technique. My slap/pop style is probably 90-95% close to the dudes in the u-tube vid.Did I unknowingly start a trend years ago!?Damn,I missed out on all the accolades.

Indonesian here..

Futoshi Uehara a.k.a Ue-chan from MAXIMUM THE HORMONE.. a Japanese NuMetal band.
his basslines and slaps r pretty sick. My all-time-fave ^^

Tetsu from L'arc en Ciel

Nissa Hamzah -- indonesian female bassist. she's also frickin awesome!
