Assembling a 'tractor' jazz bass clone/tribute.

I just waisted three waterslide decals. When they would come loose from the backing paper the Fender logo would start to run out. The ink would destroy itself.

To start off I want a volume for the bisonic, volume for jazz pickup 1 and 2. So that are three knobs. Then One knob for tone. Jazz pickup 1 and 2 will go on a stacked potentio meter. And I want a switch so I can route the bisonic to a seperate mono output or to the combined mono output. That way you can either go stereo or go to a 18 or 15 inch cabinet for extra low.
The paint of the headstock was not dry yet. It received a second coat of yellowed clear. After and hour I took it into the shed to do some sanding on the back. I think there is some trash in it. I have to wipe off once cured. Not sure if it needs a third clear coat.
It's taking it's time. It's the first bass I make using off the shelve parts and modify them. The squier heel markings are present on the neck. These will not be removed.
First try out is gonna be two jazz bass pickups on stacked pot on the single pot the bisonic pickup and the last pot is a tone pot.
The rest will follow after I made some noises.
I have to make more space for the jack chassis to go in.
Then I think I am gonna drill in the controll plate with the potmeters to fit a switch. It will route the bisonic pickup to the second jack output.
If after the mono test everything works, I will wire in the mono/stereo switch and use an extra potmeter so I can use a Q filter.

I didn’t think the output jacks would fit without removing the middle section of wood but I was hoping it would work for you.

Today I bought a vice. My local shop doesn't have plastic grips for the vice. I am in a situation I have to buy everything again in my life. Once I had a lifetime long collection of tools. No more. The big single coil... has more top end than a mud bucker. But it real strength is the booty. The low end. So That's what we want to make a variable.
I allso bought a chisel. To clean up the cavity. The dual jack plate now fits with the two jack chassis.
To make the top end of the jazz bass pickups shine and help it give it low end there is the bisonic pickup. So The end result would be a switch that can take out the bisonic and lead it to a seperate output. And there will be two Q filters with a different Q frequency.

I ordered a leather strap here with some text. It will arrive between 28 november and 16 december. We'll see.
As you have seen. Here and there are some chips. Not sure if I will (once assembly is finished) take it apart once it plays. So the colour is fresh... I think I will.

It does play. But i think i need to reverse polarity for the jazz bass pickups. To be continued.
