ATK appreciation thread

Can the Atk Bridge plate be takin off? Heard of anyone who has ever done this? I would like to put a Standard Bridge (Maybe Badass) on my ATK?

Why in the world would you want to?

The bridge, as it stands, has the same, if not more mass than a Badass so any sustain issues are moot, it's both string-through and top-load compatible, and would leave some rather large scre holes in an otherwise perfectly acceptable bass.

There's essentially zero benifit to replacing the bridge...

any huge quality difference betweent the ATKs made in Korea, Japan, and the US. My main concern is the the quality of the Korean ATK b/c you can find those a little easier. Thanks. I am looking for one b/c I have read such great things about them and they are close to a musicman sound without dumping 8 or 900 bucks.

This is only one data point, but my MIK ATK 300 is awesome. I love it. I strung it with med-light Elixirs, through the body. It's my favorite 4 string, ahead of my MIJ '75RI Jazz (which is a bass that I have wanted for *years*).

Yay! i got this webcam so i get to show my ATK off! I cant find any other bass apart from a Stingray or a Vintage Jazz that is easy to play than my ATK, i have no idea what year it is or what its worth, would like to find out some day. But anyway, here tis

heres my atk, it hasnt been touched since i got my kubicki, but the atk was my first decent/good bass, after my ashton, vantage 5 and the horrible experince that is an aslin dane MM copy....complete neck warp in 3 months, anyway i took that back to the shop and they did a straight over swap for my atk....kinda considering selling it, my kubickis jelous that it has to share the spotlight :p,

anyway as far as i know my atk is a 300 korean made, considering the bastard i bought it off had removed the decals and serial number BASTARD!
