Atkinson basses... who owns one?

Thanks for the positive comments!

I just finished this one for Matt in Nashville. Not sure if he is a TB member or not:

Oooh, nice! This with a different pickup and a thumbrest could be my Bruce Thomas tribute bass. Hmmm...

I finally got to make a 51 P! :bassist:

I think she turned out great. Especially since I had to draw the pickguard by hand and have it made by Terrapin. When I had USA Custom make the body and neck, I forgot to specify a straight heel, and nobody makes a 51 pickguard with a round heel. If anyone needs one, Terrapin now has the template. :smug:

Hmm... There are some VERY nice basses on that website. I'm now considering one of these as a graduation present (from college; in 4 years or so) instead of a MIA Fender. Some really nice stuff here. That, and Fender's color options don't do it for me so much.

I'll post a review of the 51p when it arrives. Looking at the pics along with everyone else I have to say I'm pleased. Years ago mine was stolen & I have always wanted another one. Dan was nice enough to oblige me by making this one. Actually, Dan & I are conceiving yet another new addition to the lineup. I'll let him tell you about it in his own time.

I guess in truth you could say it's more like a '55 body. It has arm & tummy contours as opposed to the straight slab on a '51. My original '69 Tele bass was a slab & the corners were a little uncomfortable by the end of the night.
