ATK's on clearance at MF.

That's actually more than the new "retail" price I've seen online, I've seen mid 300s brand new online from some retailers. So the 499 is pretty over-priced for that model.

No, it's not. The 300 sold for $499.99 at GC and MF ever since these color options cameout until a few months ago when they went on closeout for $299, probably to make room for the new version. Then they hit 199 and someone tried the price match at 123, and that was basically giving them away. Again they normally sell for 499 with a MSRP of $666.

What really made this blowout special is the inclusion of the 5 string ATK. Those have always gone for $550, reguardless of anything happening with the 4's. So congrats to those that got one of those. I dont expect it to happen again anytime soon for the 5's.

If someone gives you a bass for Christmas, if you later decide to move it are you going to sell it, or give it away? Just because these were basically given away, dont expect that to start a tradition.

If you have a budget of $350, shop for used MIK, MIJ, and every once in a blue moon someone will let a USATK go for 450(but that is way low for that one). You will likely get better craftsmanship even if it needs some work. If you must have new, be pateint on ebay and someone will put a ATK700 up for that price, tho the last time I looked they were getting higher again.

you know even at $130.99 MF and Music123 made money on these sales. Granted, not as much as I'm sure they would want to make on the sale of an ATK. However, better to take a small little profit and get them out of the warehouse where they are definitely NOT making any money for the companies.

It goes to show the markup of retail.

Also makes me shudder at the markup of american made instruments.

Someone posted earlier that while they were one the phone getting the price-match, that they were told that these were going for less than cost.

I wish these had t40 like cases. I wonder if they woul fit,eh prob not due to the angled 2+2 headstock difference.

Anyone know of cheap hardcases that fit these well? Sadly i had a thrashed case with cracks in it I was given and later sold for 20$ that fit ATK's so well. Little did i know I would have another.

im on my phone, so i'm not doing a search, but the thread from a couple years ago when they blew-out the 750 and 700 had some people discussing different cases,IIRC.

I have a rack, and stands for home and use some RR deluxe gig bags for going out, personally. The rack looks like a case and opens up to hold 7 basses + 2 storage comparments. Got it a few years ago from Rondo for short bread.

I know the rondo (SX) bass cases fit perfectly. the atk bodies are big enough to fit snugly. I have the alligator skin style one, and I had a tweed tolex one, both worked. I think they are sold under the name Douglas. they are $50a pop usually, plus shipping

Those are worth twice that price. Unbelieveable craftsmanship, 5 pc maple walnut neck, beautiful top, tuners and end pins are much heavier duty than the 300. Other than weight, I never heard of any real complaint about the 700. If you want one, you wont feel ripped off at all. Easily compares, if not beats MIA quality, IMO.

I finally got around to weighing my atk300 and it came in at a whopping 12 lbs on the nose! I knew it was a beast, but damn! Compared to my road worn p bass at around 8 lbs it's just stupid heavy but feels ok on a strap.

I lucked out. My 300 comes in at about 9.5, and my 305, oddly, is a bit lighter at 9.3

My 305 is 11 lbs., 0.7 oz. When I get straplocks installed, I'll use a nice neoprene strap with it, so it will be barely noticeable.

I have a delivery date of the 30th, yet UPS tracking says "out for delivery" today. Yay?
