WINDSOR LOCKS, CT, US 11/29/2010 6:14 A.M. OUT FOR DELIVERY :hyper:
Mee too..(Some people may have forgotten about us.)

I shoulda stayed home today.

So...dumb question...:

Seeing as I was stupid enough to not order a case with mine...
(It was hard enough to squeeze the cash for the bass out of my wife) Does anybody know what case would fit this beast?

The body appears to be larger than say...your standard fender case.

Is it the same size as a stringray?
Does a stingray fit in a "standard bass case?"

I'm in!

Another TB'er sold me his sunburst 305, and I am absolutely pumped. It's all over but the waiting, although it will be a while- USPS to Canada...

I've never seen or played an ATK, but for some reason, I just have a good feeling about this.

For one thing, my good bass has 17mm spacing and a big neck, and weighs over 10lb, so some of the chief ATK disadvantages aren't an issue for me.

A lil off topic, but is anyone else NOT digging the Elixer strings that came on their ATK? Mine sound ok, but they feel greasy and floppy. I've played Elixers on my guitars before and liked em, but definitely not on bass.

My three arrived today along with a Rockbass Streamer ( another M123 price match for $272) and I am very pleased with my new ATK's. Some don't like the Elixir's but they are a plus for me. I'm more of a natural finish kind of guy and didn't think I would like the red sparkle but I'm really digging it. ATK's are definitely worth the $500 they were originally selling for. Which you won't see me say about many other basses selling price. Feeling very lucky to have got these at such a smoking deal. I think a friend is going to take my extra 305.

Finally got mine, has a finish crack very small but i can see it coming from the bridge screw and the pickguard is lifting in a area. It plays really good tho and at 130.99$ I wont send it back , I have owned 4 atks now and this is a good one , I will be keeping it a long time.

Arrived in tune amazingly.

If your friend doesn't take it, keep me in mind? I really wanted to grab one in general but long hours working overseas without internet caused me to completely miss the deal. I wish they made the 5 in the red, but all of those look amazing!

Anybody with a spare 5 in black, let me know. Very interested! Plus my wife hasn't gotten me anything for Christmas yet lol ;)

Opened em up last night. Lots of boxes. :)

My initial impressions aren't the same as the majority here. Not sure they're keepers for me.

They LOOK amazing! And I'm quite certain they can't be beat for the price, but...

mine did not come with an awesome out of the box setup, at least for me. Could be the long trip cross country and weather change. Action was kind of high, and on the 5 the B is lower than the rest. Not going to give too much of a review because I may change my mind about everything after a string change, setup, and gig... but I did not like the feel or sound of either of these out of the box. My 2 main basses are a stingray and a big al, and there's been too many, IMO, unjust stingray claims and comparisons made with these things. My stingray is light years away from the ATK, and I think I was just expecting something very different.

Again, they seem like super solid basses and might just need the help of a setup (and I may be one of the elixer dislikers)... yeah... we'll see... may be 2 more of these in the classifieds after saturday.

Still love lookin at them though. :) Ahhh. Purdy.

They are much, much closer to a Precision sound-wise, imo.

The Stingray claims come more from where that pickup is than from how they sound.

I really need to hear my ATK through my rig and compare to some fresh non-coated strings. I like the way the Elixirs feel, and I don't feel they're overly floppy. However, it may be in my head, but they seem to sorta mute some of the highs and high mids (overtones). Am I crazy? :hiding:
