AudioKinesis 112 Cab

A number of us are off tonight, and my wife is on the road. That means... HANG! My buddy Vision (Jason) has a brand new Alleva-Coppolo LM5 that we are looking forward to checking out, and he's interested in checking out some new cabs.

Here's most of my favorite cabs in a row, up in the living room (don't tell my wife:p), with the F500 as the power source.

Should be fun, and hopefully gives you Audiokinesis fans another 'relative size' context versus other cabs.

Ken, nothing less than a live stream from your living room will do ! :D
The very, very least clips on utoob ;)

Or else... someone might have to talk to your wife.... :hiding:

:D Also, so you guys don't get the wrong impression of my wife, she LOVES it when the guys come over for a hang. But, when she is out of town, I move up from the 'man cave':D

If we hear anything 'interesting', we will post up a clip!

Just letting everyone know that there is now a second source for a Thunderchild cover. I had Gary & Co at Tuki make one up for me. Great service, great fit, and a terrific padded cover as always. I believe the Tuki part number is "adkthch1": padded; black; no logo; bottom strap; $59.

Excellent. I've ordered padded covers from Gary before, and they're first rate.

And since I've recently ordered a ThunderChild of my very own, this info will come in very handy. Thanks, Jx.

In actuallity, its a good thing I don't have as much great gear as you have. As it is now, I have a hard enough time getting out of the door for a gig from option anxiety. (right rig for the gig) If I had THAT many great options, I'd never be able to leave for the gig.

+1 I've actually cut down a lot. My Epi410UL is for sale in St. Louis, and the AE410 will head down there to replace it. So, basically, a Thunderchild and AE410 for my road gigs (small and large) and a Thunderchild and AE212 for my 'home' gigs (small and large).... all driven at this point by one of my two F500's.

My TC RH450/RS210 stays set-up in my rehearsal space. The TecAmp will probably eventually go. Great box, but I like the AE212 a bit better for my tone.

:bassist:

Didn't get to record any clips last night due to a bit too much scotch :D and low lighting conditions in the room we were in. However, I found a another clip of the Thunderchild112 that I hadn't uploaded to Youtube.

So, here is a short clip of yet another bass voicing... the 70's J inspired Alleve-Coppolo LM5, and the TC112/F500 rig, set totally flat (amp and on-board preamp).

I think it does a good job of communicating the very even, full, natural tone of that cab, and the amazing amount of low end the cab is capable of (listen to the little E and B string pattern I do at around 20 seconds through a good set of headphones and be amazed!), along with the lack of compression and quashing when digging in or slapping.

Just FYI, and another Thunderchild data point.

Just email them about ordering one. Do they have a site advertising the thunder child?

No site for his bass cabs. Duke does have a small blurb about the cab on his general site (Audiokinesis), but it primarily talks about his hi fi business.

He did have a sort of 'retail outlet' site link for a while, but that seems to have gone away. However, with a small builder like Duke, it is better just to talk with him. Great guy to deal with.
