You can't go wrong with any of Duke's cabs. Just know the type of voicing you're going for---he can steer you the right way. He's one of the best speaker designers on the planet and definitely my mentor as far as speaker design.

Yeah since the app was terminated (for good reasons), I have not been receiving email alerts like I used to. Seems to be glitchy.

I just received a notification about "keyword" notifications. Seems pretty interesting. I guess you set keywords in your profile about items/topics you're interested in and you will receive a notification when it posts. Pretty cool as long as it works. :)

first, i have to say that in my opinion no signal chain really sounds neutral or like my bass does acoustically when i'm just playing in a quiet room with no amplification. so, for me, it comes down to find the most pleasing colorations--and for me that is often situational.

the stereo rig with the hathors has a little more high end sheen to it. also, since they're 8-ohm cabs, they're a little easier on the amp and they're also smaller. since their high end is a little more pronounced, they're a the perfect fit for the stereo thing cause i also sometimes run iPad synth and sampler stuff through this rig at the same time.

for more rocky (or what i consider more rocky) or more jazz-oriented situations, i like the tc112 (4-ohm version) because i like the lows and the way the highs work.

does that make sense?

Indeed it does. I just meant, which seems to have less coloration...more monitor like? Sounds like the tc112. I've had my Berg 112's for many years, and still adore them, but they have a pronounced midrange, and when I listen back to recordings it's too punchy and mid focused to me. I know a lot of folks like that, but I like something more even from top to bottom. I'm beginning to look at alternatives. I guess I also need to try and eq my amp more, as I tend to leave it nearly flat. I have the single channel version of your Tecamp.
