What would that Vanderkley amp compare to? I've always been curious about them

What would that Vanderkley amp compare to? I've always been curious about them
If you do a TB search for Vanderkley Aurora you'll find a couple of threads on the amp.
They're made individually by Mark. Extremely high quality amps . It's dead quiet, has plenty of headroom and power, and a flexible eq section.
As for tone profile it's clear, clean, muscular , and full. Tight lows and sweet highs.

Anyone have a Hathor or TC that has the pole mount option? My TC118 has it, and I'm considering trying it, just wasn't sure if someone went down this road and can save me hassle or recommend doing it.
Just purchased a Mesa Walkabout head to try out with my two TC 112 v3 set up. I had and sold the Mesa Subway D800... Great head, but I'm not completely sold of the immediacy in response of the class D heads I've tried thus far. I much prefer the quickness of transformers. That being stated, I'm also increasingly interested in adding a Hathor 1202 to one of my TC cabs for a "best of both worlds" scenario. Has anyone run this set up, and might you have any insights as to any benefits/or loss in blending the two. Also if anyone has used or is using a Mesa walkabout into a TC, how has that paired?
Of coarse... nostatic seems to consistently be ahead of the curve.
I'm surprised he hasn't had a thirst for a 1505 yet. All us cool kids have one

Has anyone heard from @DukeLeJeune lately? I'm anxiously awaiting my second Hathor 1203, and I just bought a GK MB500 today! 
I know a lot of you have much more of champagne tastes than I do, but I've found the basic MB series does the trick for me. As I've mentioned in the past I loved the sound of the 80's Peavey MIA combos and heads. Then after 2000 they changed their sound. Not liking it. But the MB Series seems to have captured that old magic I loved in the Peavey 80's series.
So I bought it from a bass player in the Portland area. Wife told him to clear out the garage!

I've been gigging that combination of cabs for about a year and a half now (except my TC112 is a V1). IMO it's the best of both worlds. The nasty grind of the Hathor mixed with the smooth tonal spectrum and extended lows of the TC112.
The con would be if both can't fit in your trunk! That's about the only con lol.
I would imagine that the TC112 and H1203 produce a pretty sweet tone, but I ordered a second H1203. I really love the growl that the cab produces. And it's so even, and incredibly loud for the size. Last weekend I played with a racous pina colada rock style band and it got pretty loud the drunker the players got (except for me, I'm a teatotaller) and I was able to keep up with 2 guitarists, a drummer, two singers. Now, we didn't play in a real big place to a lot of people but man, that little cab sure had heart! I can't wait to get my second cab and new amp. I'm going to go out and find a loud band when the cab comes in. I always love the look people give me when I walk in with my small cab in one hand, bass and amp in my gig bag lol...
I have a second 1203 and gig the pair as well. It can get very loud and you can definitely do some face melting with it!
As I see it, you just can't go wrong with Duke's cabs. They are absolutely stellar.

You are not alone in liking the GK MB series. I've got a MB500, and it has become my favorite with the Birdhaus. I like the liveliness of the GK, and I get along well with its eq. I'm starting to seriously consider downsizing to the GK and the Birdhaus. Every single gig that I need more than that pair I'm getting PA these days.
How heavy is the Birdhaus? I would eventually like something even smaller than the TC112, and I would of course prefer to give my business to Duke.
It is pretty light, less than 30 pounds. I haven't weighed it. It is as easy to move as an Ampeg SVT210AV but packs way more bottom and produces a huge sound field.
Where the Birdhaus reigns is on small stages, and it is devastatingly good for small jazz combo work. It lights up the whole stage area with a good rendition of what the bass player is doing, even if one is standing 90 degrees off the side. It behaves like a big acoustic bass. There's plenty of ways to make more output per pound than the Birdhaus, but I haven't found a way to make the big sound field in that small of package.
I've been playing smallish bars and restaurants with it in a band running just loud enough to get up over a lively crowd, and it is perfect in that environment. The BL would not be happy if I showed up with anything else. We've got some outdoor gigs coming up, and I'm staying with the Birdhaus for stage coverage and letting the PA do the house.

I have a custom 6 string acoustic bass being made currently. I feel like that would be an amazing small, big city cab for that bass.

Got home to an Acoustic Image Clarus+ today (900 watts)......plugged in just to be sure everything worked. I will of course know more this weekend after a couple of gigs, but from what I hear, that amp with the TC112 is exactly what I've been looking for. It sounds exactly as I would think the bass would sound when I hear it acoustically. That's all I could ever ask for. Great combination!
