Are the Smoothies for sale anywhere? I thought they were taken off the market?
I have no idea? I got mine here in the classifieds.

Are the Smoothies for sale anywhere? I thought they were taken off the market?
I just got a Smoothie a few weeks ago off the Ovnilab site. He did a new run of them. I sold my Diamond after the Smoothie arrived. I felt like the Smoothie could do everything the Diamond could and more. Also, the Diamond didn't play well with my high output Spector. The Smoothie works great with all my basses:Are the Smoothies for sale anywhere? I thought they were taken off the market?

Just curious , I have been a rock bassist for a long time and recently got signed on with a country artist.i have been using the Quilter bb800 with my homebuilt 15/5 . Actually Duke you helped quite a bit with the build. We've got some big gigs coming up ,night in the country and so on. I am seriously thinking of getting a Hathor 1203 for something smoother. How would it fit the bill.
Perhaps the H series 15's would give you what your describing. A little bigger and louder?Just curious , I have been a rock bassist for a long time and recently got signed on with a country artist.i have been using the Quilter bb800 with my homebuilt 15/5 . man i gotta disagree. I did a country gig a few months ago with my hathor 112 and the low b was insanely huge. I had never had it that loud and was worried, but it ate those low C's for breakfast. If I need to crush it, I'll use my TC112 and Hathor together. So, depends on the type of country. Works great for everything except for modern bro country where they have a lot of huge B-string notes and you'd want the next size up.
howdy, might be pertinent in that i used two hathor 1203s for this project (so i think you hear a lot of cabinet).
more auditory than musical, perhaps.
the idea behind this was to listen to the overtones of a 12-string bass (a 6-string bass tuned B-C with octave strings) as notes resonated against each other and decayed.
the method was to play live into two cabinets, which where then recored in to abelton live. effects are compression and reverb in abelton. no other effects were used.
I think that those reports referred either to an earlier or to a prototype version of the 15" Hathor cab, and that @DukeLeJeune tweaked the design subsequently. I'll let him confirm or correct this, though.Similar experience here with my tc112 1203 stack. Passive PJ 5 string sounds great for this rig. I think it work well for country we do a few country songs and it works great. I think there are a few reports here that the 1203 may have a slight edge over the 15" when used with a 5 string

I was swayed by that plus rereading Tom Bowlus's comparative test of the H1505 and other AudioKinesis cabinets.
There was something compelling about the way Tom cast the H1505 as being a much stronger 4-string cabinet than it was a 5-string cabinet; and that the H1203 was better balanced for 5-string, yet was strong for 4-string, too.
I just need to state that Tom had an earlier version of the 1505. The final 1505 has been revised to exact 1203 voicing, just with less up top.
I assume this might change the 1505 better for 4 string/1203 better for 5 string judgement?
I think the 1505 is a bit more aggressive in the upper mids than the 1203 when both are in "grindy" mode, but it's cut from the same cloth, so to speak. With the midrange smoothed on both, I think they are probably more similar in the midrange region. The 1203 of course goes a bit higher, 12 kHz vs about 8 kHz (those claims take beaming into account... both midrange manufacturers' published [on-axis] curves go to 20 kHz, and that's what they claim).
Part of the 4 string/5 string thing probably goes back to the low end. The little 1203 actually has a slightly louder low-B, relative to the rest of the spectrum, -3.2 dB at 62 Hz vs -4.0 dB for the 1505. That being said, most people who own one and have heard both have said that the 1505 (or 1533) has a "bigger" low end. That's how it sounds to me too, but I can't readily explain it. The shape of the curves in the low end is a little bit different, but not by much. Maybe it's just a difference that the bigger cone makes, and it doesn't show up in a graph.
Danke, Snaxter, for following the "paper trail" on this.Mark, I recall the same. Here is what I read...
