AudioKinesis Cabs Part VI...

Good News and Bad News in Geni-land. About 18 months ago I quit my "main" gig which was IEM. Had a great year last year gigging and playing and making money with lotsa different folks, all the while searching around for some great cabs to use in my post-IEM life. Settled on the 1203 for small gigs, the 1533 for medium gigs and both for outdoor season here in Ohio.

Good News is I've got new gigs for '17 that look to be pretty fun, challenging and/or profitable. But they all use IEM's or monitors.

Bad News is the Hathors are not going to get used. Look for a FS thread in the classifieds soon to fund some new/better IEM's and a good powered monitor/PA speaker.

Yes, a 3-inch diameter "expandable plumber's test plug" will do the trick.

I found out the hard way that many if not most over-the-counter ports advertised as "3 inches in diameter" are less than that, and usually by too much for the plumber's plugs to fit. Fortunately what I believe to be the best ports on the market, Precision Ports, live up to their name as far as their dimensions go.

I don't know if this is okay or not, but for anyone from who is coming from out of town, my wife and I run an Air BnB if you need a place to stay. Passinwind was looking into it but because the location this year is south of Seattle he passed. It is currently blocked off for that weekend in case anyone wants. PM me for more information.

It's a great looking place, and in one of my very favorite parts of Seattle to boot. I definitely plan to use it another time, just didn't make sense given my short timeframe for the GTG visit this year. The Tukwila location is a pretty doable single day jaunt from where I live, so I may easily go that route.

And back on topic, I expect to bring along my Thunderchild cab to celebrate six years of ownership.
