Trust me, I'll definitely give you an update. I'm so into it jamming alone and can imagine it with the full crew. It's going to be mind-blowing!
Dudes, this Birdhaus 4x15 is SICK! Got to play it tonight and my mind is blow. Duke needs to put this thing into production because you guys are seriously missing out.

It’s nice to know that this cab found the right player for it. If it had been in my town’s GC, I would have been swooping it up quick myself. I leave a rig at this club downtown and it would have been the perfect replacement (especially for being an AudioKinesis). I’d never leave any of my 1203s; not because I’m worried about theft or anything but I’d feel pretty lazy for not ever loading those 2 in and out. A 50-60 pound cab is another thing nowadays for me. Eventually, I’ll get a larger cab from Duke just so I can park it downtown and have AK all the time every time

So pumped. Now I just have to find a new band to use it in, since I left my long-term band before moving across country.

The woofer used in the one and only Birdhaus 415 was imo something special, and in some ways it was the inspiration for my custom 15" Kappalite. Unfortunately the Basslite C2515 has been discontinued, which complicated putting that cab into production (presumably it is still available in production runs of 50 units). Yes there are other 15" woofers, but imo that one was especially well-suited to this application.
And oboy that enclosure was labor-intensive to build. Time is the thing that I'm shortest on, and therefore very time-consuming builds are less attractive to me. In the past year I have discarded other prototypes that performed well but whose build times were prohibitive.
Let me ask you a question: Do you find the switch on the back at all useful?
Duke, absolutely I do! I use it on my p-bass and sabre bass mostly. It really smooths out the overall tone! I mean, I'd buy this cab a million times over. That's the honest truth. I'll change heads, GAS is real and I embrace it, but this cab is here to stay!

Back on page 387, post number 7738, smperry mentions that he placed an order for a midless tweetless 115 cab. Anyway knowing that the midrange smoother switch is useful in the midless, tweetless Birdhaus 415 is very encouraging because that kind of switch how I hope to differentiate my midless tweetless 115 cab from others.
i see where you might be going with that - promising.

Can’t wait to see/hear what you get to cookin’ in that kitchen, Duke! You’re like the Justin Wilson of the bass cabinetry world. Haha! I’m surprised that this is just now crossing my mind after all this time.
My Mom is visiting me from Baton Rouge here tonight in Memphis. She just turned 70 yesterday. I sure enjoyed my youth in south Louisiana. Best place for a child of divorce to grow up and forget about it. Plus, all those lovely Creole ladies helped as well. Man, I’m missing that world...ain’t nothing like it!

Correct. Love mine...sounds great, and the days of breaking my back lifting an awkward, heavy and underpowered combo are over.
